No one "should look down on" any group of people, or any individual, for that matter.

The use of the word, "nerd" implies that you are referring to people who were un-athletic, and possibly unpopular in High School, and yet achieved financial success as adults. Should they "look down on" the sorts of people who mocked them in high school, and yet who have not achieved financial success as adults.

It would be an understandable human reaction, but certainly one that any mature person would fight.
