Are We A Nation of Laws or Mob Rule?

In plain sight the liberals have opted for mob rule by rejecting en masse the lawful decision of a court appointed jury. Obama to his credit did say at first everyone should respect the ruling of the Court since we are a Nation of Laws. Since then though he hedged and tried to link gun control to this controversy and then seemingly agreed with Eric Holder that we need a 'conversation about race' and on top of that talked about some of his experiences he encountered with alleged racial discrimination.

Whilst the demonstrations and some minor disturbances seem to be fading...the media still seems intent on stirring up some kind of mob action.

A recent article by Pat Buchanan addresses the sad plight of the real problem facing Black Americans and it is not white racism. I cannot give out the link since I am new here. Just google PatBuchanan and the real problem facing Black Americans.

To the poster requesting the link...they inform me since I am new here I cannot send private messages until I make like 50 posts. Sorry.

We have a giant mob called the Republican Party. They don't care who "wins". They will do whatever it takes to "rule".

Yea, what gave me that idea?

So...it's okay for people to dress up in barely authentic historical costumes with teabags stapled on their hats and march in mobs with misspelled signs protesting Constitutional taxation, chanting some crap about watering the tree of liberty with blood, but a march against the racist murder of unarmed teenagers is mob rule.

Thanks for being an asshat, noob.

The FBI hardly a friend of Z but definitely controlled by Eric Holder, investigated Z long before the trial and said that he was not a racist.

So why do you think the killing of Trayvon was somehow racist? One of Z's grandparents was black, he has been around blacks all his life, he is Hispanic and has never had a problem with any African or any African American....he even mentored black kids...... yet you still want to claim he is racist?

Thousands of teenagers have assaulted people, greviously injured people and killed people...in many cases by beating them to death with their fists and or feet....so why do you think that just because trayvon was l7 years old(not the l2 yr. old whose picture the media circulated)and unarmed that somehow made him less of a threat to a overweight and out of shape very meek fellow who was described by his gym coach as unfit as in no physical shape to fight anyone?...he only went to the gym to try and lose weight.

It appears you have not taken the time to look at the evidence nor most likely based on your statements did you watch the trial. Yet you come on here to help spread a false narrative....the one that has gotten so many people upset because they are ignorant of the true facts and thus susceptible to rumors, misinformation and the pathetic media attempt to demonize Z. Case Closed. No need to reply.

Coulter's book about how Liberals behave is a good read to frame the Zimmerman trial

The demon is a mob, and the mob is demonic. The Democratic Party activates mobs, depends on mobs, coddles mobs, publicizes and celebrates mobs—it is the mob. Sweeping in its scope and relentless in its argument, Demonic explains the peculiarities of liberals as standard groupthink behavior. To understand mobs is to understand liberals.

In her most provocative book to date, Ann Coulter argues that liberals exhibit all the psychological characteristics of a mob, for instance:

Liberal Groupthink: “The same mob mentality that leads otherwise law-abiding people to hurl rocks at cops also leads otherwise intelligent people to refuse to believe anything they haven’t heard on NPR.”

Liberal Schemes: “No matter how mad the plan is—Fraternité, the ‘New Soviet Man,’ the Master Race, the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, Building a New Society, ObamaCare—a mob will believe it.”

Liberal Enemies: “Instead of ‘counterrevolutionaries,’ liberals’ opponents are called ‘haters,’ ‘those who seek to divide us,’ ‘tea baggers,’ and ‘right-wing hate groups.’ Meanwhile, conservatives call liberals ‘liberals’—and that makes them testy.”

Liberal Justice: “In the world of the liberal, as in the world of Robespierre, there are no crimes, only criminals.”

Liberal Violence: “If Charles Manson’s followers hadn’t killed Roman Polanski’s wife, Sharon Tate, Clinton would have pardoned him, too, and he’d probably be teaching at Northwestern University.”

Citing the father of mob psychology, Gustave Le Bon, Coulter catalogs the Left’s mob behaviors: the creation of messiahs, the fear of scientific innovation, the mythmaking, the preference for images over words, the lack of morals, and the casual embrace of contradictory ideas.

Coulter traces the history of the liberal mob to the French Revolution and Robespierre’s revolutionaries (delineating a clear distinction from America’s founding fathers), who simply proclaimed that they were exercising the “general will” before slaughtering their fellow citizens “for the good of mankind.”

Similarly, as Coulter demonstrates, liberal mobs, from student radicals to the leftist willingness in Russia and China to slaughter millions for a supposed higher morality aka....a more just society, to anti-war and pro-ObamaCare fanatics today, have consistently used violence to implement their idea of the “general will.”

This is not the American tradition; it is the tradition of Stalin, Mao and of Hitler, and the guillotine— the traditions and legacy of evil-- influencing the American Left.

As the heirs of the French Revolution, Democrats have a history that consists of pandering to mobs, time and again, while Republicans, heirs to the American Revolution, have regularly stood for peaceable order.

Hoping to muddy this horrifying truth, liberals slanderously accuse conservatives of their own crimes—assassination plots, conspiracy theorizing, political violence, embrace of the Ku Klux Klan. Coulter shows that the truth is the opposite: Political violence—mob violence—is always a Democratic affair.

Surveying two centuries of mob movements, Coulter demonstrates that the mob is always destructive. And yet, she argues, beginning with the civil rights movement in the sixties, Americans have lost their natural, inherited aversion to mobs. Indeed, most Americans have no idea what they are even dealing with.

Only by recognizing the mobs and their demonic nature can America begin to defend itself.

And those same people will carry signs that say "Keep government hands off my Medicare". Go figure.

This is what a lack of education causes. Check out this one paragraph:

We all know from history that when Communists move into a country and take over, the first to go are the college professors, the scientists, the students, the educated all of which make up the so called "liberals".

What's left over are the uneducated sheeple who bleat "hurrah" when their leaders say "education is for snobs", like Santorum. Or "let him die". Or "This is how we feed the animals". Or "feed the poor and they will breed". Gee whiz, now what party says those things and is 90% white?

This libtard propagandist would have the naïve believe all college professors, scientists, students and the educated are all "liberals" what a crock. BTW I thought this was a board for tea partiers...are there actually any tea party members on here?

Equal protection and rule of law are rapidly falling by the wayside. I'm not sure many people even realize it, but we're creating a radically different kind of government and we're going to regret it.

I agree we are creating a radically different kind of government.... equal protection of the law has suffered a huge blow by giving extra protection to minorities.....and the current situation with the trayvonistas is a huge example of how many liberals now have a lynch mob attitude towards anyone who they perceive is racist...they do this earnestly believing they represent a superior moral position....no matter the facts.....no matter the evidence....they feel they must protect and pursue their agenda of the politics of black victimhood.

They were perfectly willing to send a innocent man to jail...in order to preserve and pursue that agenda.....and this sort of attitude...is very similar to the one that prevailed in that period when leftist radicals/socialists/progressives/communists/Stalinists gained control of Russia and sent millions to their deaths in order to pursue the party line...the blind pursuit of justice as they perceived it. This perception of a higher good that the liberals have makes them very dangerous....because of their willingness to inflict persecution aka punishment on anyone who dares opposed their agenda...be it Zimmerman or anyone else their propagandists can conjure up as a scapegoat for a political show trial.

I really don't know much about that whole mess. It looked like bread and circuses to distract us from more serious issues (the Snowden leaks, Bradley Manning's trial, the selective enforcement of PPACA, etc...). In any case, coming after him again seems like double jeopardy to me - regardless of the rationalizations.

I do not think they will be able to manufacture another case against Z....though they would very much like to do so....there is simply no evidence to charge Z with any sort of Civil Rights Violation. Z has no history of racism and the fact that the FBI investigated Z and declared him not to be a racist is a major hurdle that Eric Holder cannot overcome in order to prosecute Z.

Well interest seems to have waned.....but this concept of America under Mob Rules remains a most relevant topic and although it is obviously in search of a audience in this forum for the good of America it desperately needs to be understood.

Few people understand the legal origins from which our rule of law is derived, beginning with the Magna Carta, which established the principle that no one, including the king or a lawmaker, is above the law. Nor are people cognizant of the subsequent history and philosophy influencing the framers of the U.S. and many state constitutions.

Sadly, this lack of understanding is what allows so many people to disregard system a system of justice intended to be impartial and to afford each citizen equal protection under the law. It is this disregard which propels mobs to demand social justice and influences politicians to entertain the passion of the people. The founders and framers were afraid of mob rule. They understood that emotion impairs judgment. As John Adams so eloquently explained:

"The law, in all vicissitudes of government, fluctuations of the passions, or flights of enthusiasm, will preserve a steady undeviating course; it will not bend to the uncertain wishes, imaginations, and wanton tempers of men."

Whether or not "Stand Your Ground" laws should be repealed is up to the legislating bodies in charge of implementing and repealing legislation in their consecutive states. Perhaps Stand Your Ground violates a historic perspective on manslaughter, perhaps not. But historical precedent does constrain our ruling bodies from double jeopardy, or from holding a person accountable for violating a law which did not exist at the time it was broken.

The study of our state and U.S. constitutions does not receive nearly enough attention in our nation’s schools. While reading, writing, and arithmetic are critical to an educated citizenry, understanding how our rule of law is designed to limit government and maximize freedom is critical to the liberties for which our forebears fought so hard.

To allow a witch-hunt of recently acquitted George Zimmerman in order to prosecute him a second time for his role in Trayvon Martin’s death would be a travesty and antithetical to our system of justice.

We live in a constitutional Republic. The founders and framers understood that we needed written law under which everyone is treated equally. They also recognized that a representative government in which there was a people’s house and a senate, as well as a judiciary that practiced good behavior, would constrain the passions of the mob and allow those holding office to impassively legislate, enforce, or adjudicate. Allowing the media and special interest groups to demand the government take additional legal action against George Zimmerman establishes very dangerous precedent.

The people and their representatives need to rethink this course of action before we irrevocably damage the rule of law under which we are afforded our equal protection and under which our rights are guaranteed.
