No he was not, at best he was an Army reserve officer with bad eyesight which kept him out of the real war....Before WW ll Ronald Reagan was a Lt. in the U.S. Cavalry during the late 1930's.
>"Ronald Reagan is the last President who was a veteran of the United States horse Cavalry, a living link to the mounted Cavalry of American mythology. Though his enemies tried to deride him as a make-believe cowboy, Reagan was a genuine Trooper- a US Cavalry soldier trained to ride into battle on horseback..."<

Outta be one of the requirements a Presidential candidate has to have had command rank and experience to become President. Why in the world would you want someone with no military experience whatsoever being the military's Commander-In-Chief?
Thinking of the recent ruckus over political appointees for Ambassadorships with no experience in the respective countries. If that's legitimate (which it is,) then why no objection to Presidential candidates with no military experience?
