The best thing about the government shutting down is it shows how much we really don't need it. If they want to shut it down, then shut it down. It doesn't change my life one bit. In fact, it could only make it better.

We don't do war anymore, we do colonial occupations. The best thing about the government shutting down is it shows how much we really don't need it. If they want to shut it down, then shut it down. It doesn't change my life one bit. In fact, it could only make it better.
one of the main functions of the federal government is to organize for war....but we got twitter now

Only idiots think it is good
it's very bad for all of us taxpayers....by shutting down, instead of paying our bills for what was spent and borrowed, we will lose our credit rating, and any drop in credit rating will raise our interest rates on the 20 trillion national debt, which will force us to raise taxes on everyone to pay for simply the interest payment on our debt.
A VERY BAD IDEA
that's very very very bad for us and future generations....

So let me ask everybody here. What would happen if we had a major shutdown that lasted for months, and nobody really knew the difference? Wouldn't that tell us something? Five or six months later, everybody is still doing fine.
everybody is still doing fine.
Many government functions.......contracts, R&D, public assistance, legal, budget work

Bulllllllllshit. Just bull shit. If this was the case, why are we not Mexico after every other shut down? If anything, the fct that we have such a huge credit card bill is reason enough alone to shut it down.
Bulllllllllshit. Just bull shit.
Thats a very good point, too. It costs more to shut it down than to keep it running.Last shutdown cost $26 Billion
You could build a wall for that much
Those Government employees who perform functions that will cause public harm immediately if they are not there get classified as "essential" and are not subject to a government shutdown
Many government functions.......contracts, R&D, public assistance, legal, budget work on a monthly or fiscal year timeline. Their absence is not felt for months but it still costs money
