It's worth pointing out that it's the "good seats" that are empty. Those seats are between the Dept. of Treasury and the White House. That's prime seating for the parade and nobody's there.

There was a small crowd just west of the bleachers and closer to the Presidential reviewing stand. But clearly there was no flood of people yearning to see the man or the parade.
