1 Corinthians 10:23

"All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." KJV

"Everything is permissible," but not everything is helpful. "Everything is permissible," but not everything builds up." HCSB

Sodomy is permissible. Murder is permissible. Rape is permissible. Stealing is permissible. Lewdness is permissible. Disrespect is permissible. Not honoring your parents is permissible. All these are lawful and permissible. Right?

1832. exesti ἔξεστιν are lawful

Strong's Concordance
exesti: it is permitted, lawful
Original Word: ἔξεστιν
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: exesti
Phonetic Spelling: (ex'-es-tee)
Short Definition: it is permitted, lawful, possible
Definition: it is permitted, lawful, possible.

Exestee sounds close to Existing.. All things are existing but not all things build up.

And if something exists, I don't see how it would be unable to be partaken of by people.

Ecclesiastes 1:9

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." KJV

"What exists now is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done;
there is nothing truly new on earth." NET

Fashion and history repeats itself in slight variances but still in the same existence.

There is no new thing under God's sun in God's solar system of His Earth. If there ever should be any 'new' thing, it would come from God creating it through Jesus and for Jesus that in Jesus ALL things may consist.

Colossians 1:16 Greek Text Analysis

Did you know that the land of Goshen, given to Jacob and his sons and son's wives, in the land of Egypt was located in the Northern part of Egypt? And since Egyptians found Shepherds to be abominations, they gave the Shepherds one of the least favored places in all of Egypt. But the land was still good for shepherding.

And did you know that after Jacob and his sons and sons' wives passed into the sleep of the grave, the Shepherding aspect that Jacob and his family brought into Egypt may have died out? So, where did the Israelites live if they were no longer Shepherds but slaves, in the time of Moses' birth?

Exodus 1:7-14King James Version (KJV)

7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

Children of Israel...

Genesis 35:10
"And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel."

And so-
"And the children of Jacob were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them."

Children of Jacob meaning those who came forth from his loins in every generation.

Since the land of Goshen was located in the Northern part of Egypt with little supervisory watchers, the Egyptians feared that if the Israelites were left in that secluded region, they could plot and plan attacks together with Egypt's enemies, without it being known by Pharaoh or his counselors. And so they had to be moved out of that secluded land into a land where they could be watched over by the major population of Egypt.

Heliopolis (Ancient Egypt) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is a study on whether the Kings of Egypt, the Pharaohs, would have made their dwellings in the city of Heliopolis or Thebes, (Luxor). Thebes is located in the Southern parts of Egypt while Heliopolis is located in the Northern.

Heliopolis which is near Cairo, has now become a very industrialized city. Modern businesses and telecommunications are seen all throughout.

Yet in Luxor in Today's time, we can still see what it was like in the days of Pharaoh.

And don't forget that Pharaoh needed the Israelites close to his place of dwelling to have them on call for any slave work that needed to be done. Also don't forget that the daughter of Pharaoh, who lived in Pharaoh's home, found Moses in the Nile while bathing meaning that Pharaoh's daughter did not find Moses too far from her home and the Mother of Moses laid him in the Nile near to her own home.

Isaiah 19:25

Riding through the streets of Luxor Egypt on Chariots in those days could give the person large ideas and thoughts of possessing the world. Remember that in those days, this is all they saw besides other people in clothes and manners of work. There was not even a night lamp post on the sides of the roads...

So, as the Israelites were forced to build for Pharaoh the Pithom and Raamses, which is near to the land of Goshen, did the Egyptians treat the Israelites with cruelty and rigor as stated in the Holy Bible?

Exodus 1:13-14
"13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour."

Would the Egyptians have made the Israelites to trek the land into the regions of Goshen and Heliopolis in order to erect Pithom and Raamses, which even the Egyptians thought and viewed as menial? All of the finer qualities of work were done near Luxor and not in the land of the North Nile Bank.

The water mass above the Pithom and Raamses region, being near the Heliopolis, which the Israelites were forced to build, is the Mediterranean Ocean where if there were ever any Tsunami's, would have destroyed all that region.

as it can be seen in the map, there is the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba. The Gulf of Suez is supposedly 195 miles (314 km) in length, and varies in width from 12 to 20 miles (19 to 32 km) which means that the distance between Egypt to the Sinai Peninsula would be between 12-20 miles. If the Israelites crossed over using the dry land God had provided within this Gulf of Suez, they travelled for 20 miles, as the waters were kept divided as a wall of water, one on the right and another on the left. However, knowing that the whole multitude of the Israelites, which were becoming too great and exceeding as well as other non-Israelites were involved in the crossing, that would mean that the crossing of this multitude while the Egyptian army was pursuing them would have had to have been quick. The women and children and aged ones would have had to make their crossing quick and precise in order to not be captured by the Egyptians on Chariots. And as the Egyptian army entered into the dry land of waters, the whole army of 600 choice Chariots as well as the whole entire army, would have been able to fit within this 12-20 mile stretch as they rode with the power of horses.

Exodus 14:7
"And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them."

The Chariot in Egyptian Warfare
However, by the 15th century BC, Pharaoh Tutmoses III had over a thousand chariots at his disposal; by 1400 BC the Great King of the Mitanni had amassed several times that number. We can picture these huge numbers of vehicles charging across the plain straight towards the enemy; the psychological impact of such a charge would have been enormous on untrained and unsteady troops.

My estimation would be that the crossing would have had to be within an hour's span in order for all the chariots of Egypt to be caught in the waters.

so instead of going around the top of the Gulf of Suez, they went through it? And after they got onto the other side, they then decided to go around the top of the Gulf of Aqaba? And this so God could show His Power and Mercy?

If the escape out of Egypt was a frightening one, a case of life or death, then I can't see using their fear as a means to show any kind of Power to the 600 Choice Charioteers and all the chariots of Egypt. If it was only to prove to Egypt God's Might, then the assaults Israel received after coming out of Egypt by the Amalekites first, and others following, would have been unnecessarily cruel.

Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for 400 years.” (Genesis 15:13)

The time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of 430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. (Exodus 12:40–41)

And God spoke to this effect—that his offspring would be sojourners in a land belonging to others, who would enslave them and afflict them 400 years. (Acts 7:6)

First: The Israelites were as 'slaves' for 400 years.
Second: The children of Jacob lived as free for 30 years.
Third: For 400 years were they afflicted as slaves.

So the total time from the entry of Jacob into the Egypt until the Exodus would have been 430 years.
