You wanted a discussion I thought or was this your attempt at troll Christians here in the forum?

What did I just say. You quoted it - what did I say.

Making it easy for you.

:eusa_whistle:

So your intent was to troll the Christians of this forum. Usual when someone starts a thread they want to start a discussion. Maybe I mistook your first ywo post for you wanting a discussion but instead you just want to troll.

Your loss. I was willing to discuss, but you can't answer a simple question.

Then we won't be talking.

You do realize that the Treaty of Tripoli Arabic version There is no Article 11 that section was in letter form supposedly written by the translator who has been suggested was an atheist.

Now the call is your's I have thrown the gantlet down.

That's 'gauntlet', bright eyes. And I already threw the gauntlet down. You think you're gonna win this one? Apparently, you've never met a Finnlander.

How are you going too win when you are using a document under false pretense? There is no article 11 in the Arabic version of the Treaty of Tripoli. It was a letter written by the translator who some have suggested was an atheist.

I asked you several times did you want to troll or have a discussion you never answered which lead me to believe you wanted to troll the Christians of this forum. Which I will not allow, and I have no restraints of doing Christians things I'm a sinner that defends the good guys.

Big reb, I fear everybody is right. You really aren't that bright. You know what it will take for me to re-enter this discussion, and you're digging your little redneck heels in. Which is fine! But don't try to make this about me.

Loaded question, and the best answer is not even there.

Our Country was founded by a group of people that almost all shared a common Judao/Christian Belief System.

Clearly our laws were heavily influenced by these 2 major Religious Beliefs.

However clearly the intent was not to create a Juado/Christian Nation.

The Founders wanted us all to be free to believe what ever we wanted, and free to express that belief.

They did not want a Christian Nation, and they did not want a Nation like we have today where it is almost Deemed BAD to express religion at all.

Our country is founded on freedom of and from religion.

You can practice whatever religion you want including atheism.

Again I quoted the link to the Arabic version of the treaty section 11 is not in that version. Some who have more knowledge on the subject are saying it's a letter or notes written by the translator who some have suggested was a atheist.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was supposed to read every post in the thread, and respond immediately.

Can I be forgiven. It was Mother's Day. Mea Culpa and all that.

Reb, if you don't address what I said in this post, I'm not continuing to converse with you on the OP.

I agree in part. I think his treaty provision went too far when it said "in NO sense."

Given the First Amendment, I agree that it is not founded AS a Christian nation -- or as a Jewish Nation -- or as a Deist Nation -- or as a Muslim Nation -- etc. Freedom of Religion means that no one religion is dominant or favored.

On the other hand, there IS a sense in which the founding of the Republic was premised -- at least in part -- upon our Judeo-Christian roots.

I can't wait to see how many people disagree with him. And why.

Was this not your intent to have a discussion? You said you can't wait to see how many people disagree. Is that not you saying you want to have a discussion? I'm a bit confused at why you are doing this?

Why? He's pretty much spot on.

No no, our Founders really were all Atheists and 'Deists!' Yuk Yuk! Same ole same ole from the Atheist Socialist/Communist herd. They're so bleepin stupid.

BD Barf is padding her resume on nothing...time to let her GO.

Constantine and Martin Luther are the actual founders of America. Without them, there would be no America. But it gets pretty complicated. And most aren't interested in learning. So it's time to bail on this thread. See ya. :)

Typical push poll. You can get the majority answer you want if you phrase the question a certain way and that's how the bigoted left survives. What if the poll asked "Was the Country founded on Christian beliefs"? That's an honest question and you would get a majority yes.
