I didn't find out about this slaughter until I was in college (after '83). Not taught in Middle or High school.

Well, what kids are taught in social studies and history is weak on a great many subjects; not just matters of racial matters. LOL That is what MAGA folks don’t understand. Like, for example, what does any of us really know about the life of the typical person in the south during reconstruction? It was glossed over in History class. As I remember it...It was the end of the civil war, then a quick brush on the Spanish American war, followed by the Industrial Revolution, WWI , the depression then WWII. Most of Vietnam wasn’t even covered other than the fact that we lost.

What they don’t like is blacks and other ethnics being put on a par with them...it would mean they are no better than the people they were conditioned to think were lesser. And they can’t have that.
