My school had it in class a few years ago, and it was Catholic.

By the way, almost everything that the book of Genesis says is in line with scientific discoveries.

Post #16 provides an outline that shows exactly that.
It is amazing.

I think it is interesting that 1-4 says God first created the heaven and the earth. But 6-10 too refer to the creation of heaven in a different way, as a divider of waters.

Also interesting is that the earth was originally void and formless as per 1-4.

I speculate that these cross references hint the existence of templates for the creation, as a preliminary step that God uses to start up a creationary step.

I would submit that certain knowledge of a creator isn't a particularly useful thing for every day survival. While emotionally comforting, that knowledge in and of itself, won't feed you, house you, created life-sustaining technology, or achieve a higher standard of living.

Science is the methodology for figuring out how things work and how that knowledge can be used to improve (mostly) our lives. Religion is a way to 'know' those things that we crave to know as self-aware organisms.

Both are necessary for life.
