The Second Continental Congress declared May 17, 1776 as a day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer for the people to humble themselves before God and repent of their sins. They would fast for the day and supplicate God in prayer for forgiveness for their sins as individuals and as a nations and to seek His favor in the conflict with Great Britain that was beginning. They were willing to humble themselves before God and serve Him for their liberties. He was their God, and they were His people. We live in a day when we need to renew the covenant our Founders made with our Heavenly Father. So there is a movement to set aside May 17, 2012 as a day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer so that we can supplicate God for the remission of our sins as individuals and as a people. We will seek His guidance and His Holy Hand of Divide Providence in Restoring our Republic and our liberty. And we will seek to once again do as Ancient Israel, and as our Founders did and promise that He will be our God, and we will be His people. People of all faiths, sects, denominations, backgrounds etc, are invited to join. Please mark this on your calandars and Let us seek the hand of Divine Providence in the life of our nation. Let us seek His Spirit and repent of our many sins. If any of you have a sin in your life that you haven't forsaken, choose now as a time to eliminate it. If you are proud, seek to be humble. If you lie, seek to be honest. If you are apathetic, or full of anger or hate, seek to be charitable. Love your enemies. Pray for them that despitefully use you. If pornography plagues your life, flee it. Find good and uplifting media and activities to replace the less than honorable media you watch. Teach your children to love the scriptures and study them yourselves. There are so many things we can do to change our lives. We need to repent because our Constitution was designed to govern only a moral and upright people.
