480 year old tree in Wrexham wins tree of the year award.

A pretender. The real Moreton Bay Fig Tree is in Santa Barbara.

To use that name for the usurper in Ventura is like using the “The Avengers” name for Marvel's absurd comic-book based pretenders, not one of which, nor all of them combined, are worthy to polish John Steed's shoes.

That is certainly the only one that I knew about.

I suppose the tree in Alameda is a usurper also.

Well, and I hate to be the one to break this to you, that's the name of the species. They can be found all over central and southern California.. Los Angeles, San Diego, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Anaheim...

We've got the Angel Oak here in Charleston:

Actually, it's out on Johns Island...

It is considered to be the largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi.

My favorite tree!!
The Live Oak!!
We had one at our weekend place that was huge and had all the drop branches like the one in your photo.
Easiest tree I've ever climbed.
