Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley fell to second and third place in the rankings. Much of the oil you pay over $110 for today was sold to a futures investor years ago when it cost 1/3rd of that. Futures investors buy up the oil to hedge their savings against the falling US Dollar. The more the dollar falls the higher futures investors will drive oil prices.
