Global weather patterns seem to get stranger and stranger with each passing year. Almost every day now, the news is telling us about some bizarre weather event that hasn’t happened “in 100 years” going on in some area of the globe. All over the planet, we are seeing torrential rainfalls, unprecedented flooding, extreme drought, nightmarish wildfires, record setting tornadoes and very unusual blizzards. Record high temperatures and record low temperatures are set so frequently now that nobody really seems to even notice anymore. So exactly what in the world is going on here? Why does our weather seem to be going absolutely crazy? Perhaps even more important – can we expect our weather patterns to become even more erratic? Some meteorologists are suggesting that these unusual weather events are just an “anomaly” and that things will get back to normal soon. But what if they don’t?

Does the left actually think the world began 100 years ago? Jan, Feb, March and April ain't even a drop in the bucket of geological history. Back in the 70's the cold weather was similar and "scientists" were suggesting that we might be entering a new Ice Age.

One of the primary predictions of global warming is that the weather swings will get wider and wilder.

I first posted that sentence here several years ago, and it is more true today that it was then.

And here is part of the story;

They predicted an ice age in the 70's

Posted on 24 September 2007 by John Cook

The argument "they predicted an ice age in the 70's" has barnstormed into the Top Ten thanks largely to an Investor's Business Daily article claiming James Hansen believed we were heading for an ice age. This is based on the 1971 paper Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Aerosols: Effects of Large Increases on Global Climate (Rasool 1971) that speculated if aerosol levels increase 6 to 8 fold, it could trigger an ice age.

However, James Hansen wasn't an author of the Rasool paper and never made any ice age predictions. So what was his involvement? According to Investor Business Daily, "Aiding Rasool's research was a 'computer program developed by Dr. James Hansen'." [ UPDATE - James Hansen explains in more detail about his program used in Rasool's paper ] As Tim Lambert succintly puts it at Deltoid, "By their logic, if I borrow a pen from you, you must agree with everything I write with your pen."

Putting James Hansen aside, the whole logic that "climate scientists got it wrong in the 70's so they must be wrong now" is a flawed ad hominem argument that says nothing about the current science of anthropogenic global warming. Is it really appropriate to compare a single study in the 70's to the scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming today?

National Academy of Sciences - now and then

The most comprehensive study on the subject (and the closest thing to a scientific consensus at the time) was by the US National Academy of Sciences. It's basic conclusion was "…we do not have a good quantitative understanding of our climate machine and what determines its course. Without the fundamental understanding, it does not seem possible to predict climate…"

Contrast this with the US National Academy of Science's current position: "there is now strong evidence that significant global warming is occurring... It is likely that most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities... The scientific understanding of climate change is now sufficiently clear to justify nations taking prompt action." Incidentally, this is in a joint statement with the Academies of Science from Brazil, France, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom.

The Fantasy of Extreme Weather | Behind The Black

The whole changing weather crap is the ultimate of all scams.

But anybody with half a brain will say to themselves, "Hmmm.......lets take a look at the records.......see what historically has happened......."

What they would find is that things like floods and drought have been happening forever......high rates some years, low others. Its all out there for anybody to see and Ive posted up plenty......people can go do their own research. Catastophic events with extreme weather were actually far worse in the 19th century.:up:

But either way......."prompt action" isnt going to happen except in the fantasy world of the environmental OC's. But dont take my word for it.....go look at the scuccess of the Climate Summits from the last few years = an unmitigated disaster. Why? Because governments cant come up with a way to fleece the public out of 76 trillion dollars.:eusa_dance:

You see folks......the brilliance of the whole climate crusader crap is that they always ONLY talk about the present and never compare it to shit!!! Highly effective because most people are uninformed and dumbasses. The climate k00ks NEVER, EVER want you to becme aware of the the history of extreme weather because if they did, it would be tantamount to shooting themselves in the face with 00 buckshot. Well done, you certainly taught all those "frauds that think extreme weather never existed before about 1990" a serious lesson right there.

Is it only "the left" that's concerned about global warming?

Another Ice Age? - TIME

Another Ice Age?
Monday, June 24, 1974

In Africa, drought continues for the sixth consecutive year, adding terribly to the toll of famine victims. During 1972 record rains in parts of the U.S., Pakistan and Japan caused some of the worst flooding in centuries. In Canada's wheat belt, a particularly chilly and rainy spring has delayed planting and may well bring a disappointingly small harvest. Rainy Britain, on the other hand, has suffered from uncharacteristic dry spells the past few springs. A series of unusually cold winters has gripped the American Far West, while New England and northern Europe have...

Does the left actually think the world began 100 years ago? Jan, Feb, March and April ain't even a drop in the bucket of geological history. Back in the 70's the cold weather was similar and "scientists" were suggesting that we might be entering a new Ice Age.

Is it only "the left" that's concerned about global warming?

Predominantly, AGW is the PRIME motivation for "alternate energy", sustainable development, and the villianization of fossil fuels. Seems obvious those are the bullet items in the leftist agenda. Are they not?

I'm concerned about Global Warming. I just don't believe that cow farts and SUVs are the principal cause...

One of the primary predictions of global warming is that the weather swings will get wider and wilder.

I first posted that sentence here several years ago, and it is more true today that it was then.

And here is part of the story;

Easy prediction since the weather has always been a wild ride...much like predicting warming when you know the earth is recovering from a little ice age. Smoke and mirrors only fool the stupid.

Hey SSDD.......check out that list of weather events going back to 580??

Heres whats funny..........throw the climate k00ks into any century and they'd be talking "extreme weather.......the world is ending!!!!!". Thats what makes this global warming stuff the ultimate ruse.

There has always been weather.

Global warming is a money making endeavor.

Global weather patterns have not changed. Hurricane season still happens where hurricanes happen. Tornado alley is still tornado alley and snow still falls where snow has fallen for hundreds of years. Storms have gotten stronger, but no stronger than they have been in the past because storm strength is cyclical. The Pacific is usually warm the Atlantic cool. At times, and it has happened before, the Pacific cools and the Atlantic warms. Climatologists, and that is limited to legitimate climatologists find the weather becoming more like it was in the 50s. There were eleven major hurricanes. 1950 alone saw three hurricanes a Cat. 3 or more. What we see now is greater damage from storms. That's not because of the size or strength of the storms, but the greater population density where the storms hit.

We do have nightmarish wildfires. That's not because of global warming. Fires are not fueled by global warming but dead brush. For many years there has been a practice of denying the reality that healthy forests burn. Every small fire is immediately put out. Environmental activists have protected the dead brush of forests for years. The recent fire in California, the Powerhouse Fire, has burned in an area accumulating dead brush for 88 years. It should have had many normal, healthy, fires within that time. But "protection" allowed the brush to build until this fire has now burned 32,000 acres and is still burning as of this moment.

There should be a general uprising against warmists and well meaning but totally misguided environmentalists. I have hope that the public may still be educated out of myth and throw off these wacky ideals.
