Zone1 the RCC is not from God

there was no restored church of God. Can you name any mainstream religion that claims it has a prophet?

Lolol 😂 That's ridiculous. All because of a con man with a third grade education?

There's schools for prophets in Atlanta.. evangelical crackpots turn them out every year. It's the last refuge of scoundrels.

In the Olivet discourse Jesus predicts the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple within that generation. That happened. I don't see the dilemma.

The discord you all create with each other - proclaiming, "You are wrong, I am right" etc - where do you think that comes from?

We all know Jesus and his apostles prophesied, Revelation was the last prophecy given by God. Mr Smith prophecy's were false truth. He said Jesus was coming in 1835= false. But the fact remains it wasn't a false prophecy it was an error because he isn't a prophet.

A generation is 40 years not 2000 years.

Coptic Church is false. The Church of Jesus Christ is the restored true Church of Jesus Christ. That’s why its name is The Church of Jesus Christ. Because of this, the Book of Mormon is true and thus Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God.

Prophecies are conditional statements. Predictive prophecies explain what is on offer, not what has already been decided.

This dynamic is highlighted later in Jeremiah (ch. 26, to be exact). After having prophesied the destruction of the Temple—obviously not a popular position in Jerusalem—the priests, the prophets, and all the people condemn Jeremiah to death (vv. 7-9) because of his prediction of doom.

But then the elders of the land recall that Micah had predicted a similar fate for Jerusalem.

Prophets don't predict anything, they are direct contact with God and receive revelations from him.

Prophets were the conscience of the community. They warned about bad outcomes if people didn't change their ways. They weren't fortune tellers. They were keen observers.

You're trying to reduce prophecy to superstition or some halfwit magic act.

again, you deny Biblical Facts, a prophet speaks to and is spoken to by God.

Simply put, a prophet is someone chosen by God to speak for God. Their job, whatever the time period or tidings, was to accurately impart His message. Men and women called to this task came from differing backgrounds, personalities and levels of social status.

Many instructions by prophets are conditional. “If Israel or Judah continue the direction you are going, this is what will happen to you.” But, it’s not based on logic. Instead , it’s based on revelation from the Lord because the Lord Ivan see the future. Such as with Malachi stating that the Lord will in the last days put into the hearts of their children to not forget their ancestors. A prophecy you wish to ignore because it destroys your belief.

Mormons think God talks to prophets.

When someone tells you they speak for God, run.
