I don't care what anyone says but illegals bring diseases with them. When someone legally enters this country they are checked for diseases so that they don't infect the native population. Everytime I hear of a disease outbreak I automatically think it was caused by illegals. Boo hoo hoo...I'm an awful evil racist for pointing out the truth but guess what I am fucking sick right now and I am tired of the federal government allowing this situation to continue. The politically correct mindset doesn't even allow for that possibility to exist so they don't even check to see if illegals are bringing these diseases across the border.

Now Mexico got a zika problem...

Mexico Zika Infections Soar, With Tourist Areas Among Those Affected
October 13, 2016 – Rates of Zika infection in Mexico have skyrocketed this year, spreading throughout regions hosting some of the country’s most popular tourism destinations and in spite of a promise by the government to mount a “massive campaign” to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
Mexico now has the fourth largest number of confirmed Zika infections in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the Pan American Health Organization. From fewer than 300 confirmed cases at the beginning of 2016, the number had climbed to 3,784 by October 6, and to 4,306 confirmed cases by October 10, according to Mexico’s national epidemiology board. The countries with the highest rates are Brazil (101,851), Puerto Rico (24,127) and Colombia (8,826). Some 2,087 pregnant women have been infected with the virus – which is transmitted by the Aedes mosquito – since the outbreak in Mexico began in 2015, the government reports.

The state of Veracruz on Mexico’s Gulf coast reports the highest number of infections at 1,110 followed by 748 in the Pacific coast state of Guerrero, home to the tourist resort of Acapulco. The state of Quintana Roo, home to beach resorts on the Gulf coast including Cancun, has reported 196 cases.[ Pregnant women are warned by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to avoid travel to areas of Mexico below 2,500-feet altitude, which includes all of the country’s beach resorts, as well as major tourist attractions in the Yucatan and Chiapas.

Mexico City is above the altitude set by the CDC and so is not considered an area at risk for Zika; there have been no recorded cases of infection in the capital. Individuals whose partners live in or have traveled to Mexico should avoid sex during pregnancy and use condoms or other barriers to prevent infection through sexual contact, CDC says. It recommends that women wait six months after a male partner has shown symptoms for Zika before having sexual contact. In a case of female infection, the couple should wait eight weeks before having unprotected sex.

Last May, Mexico's Undersecretary of Health Prevention and Promotion in a statement promised a “massive campaign” to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and to deploy basic sanitation measures before the summer’s rainy season. Sofia Granados, a spokeswoman for the national health service, said actions taken by the government include education on how to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and avoid bites as well as public testing for the virus, including testing of pregnant women who show infection symptoms. The World Health Organization has identified an “unexpected increase” in cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome in countries affected by Zika and says Zika is the most likely cause.

WHO: Zika Ebbing in Latin America but Vigilance Needed
February 01, 2017 — Brazil and Latin America are recording lower numbers of Zika infections than last year, but all countries must remain vigilant against the virus, which can cause birth defects, the World Health Organization said Wednesday.
The viral disease carried by mosquitoes has spread to more than 60 countries and territories since an outbreak was identified in Brazil in 2015, raising alarm over its ability to cause microcephaly as well as Guillain-Barre syndrome. "The prevalence of Zika is dropping, certainly in the Americas," Ian Clarke, WHO incident manager for Zika, said at a news briefing. He said it was not clear why infection rates were falling. "The anticipation was that we would see a second wave, certainly in Brazil, and we haven't seen it. And we don't believe this is because we're not looking. There's a lot of surveillance ongoing," Clarke said.

Further research was needed, he said, into such issues as whether there was a "natural immunity" because of previous exposure. Wednesday marked the first anniversary of WHO's declaration that Zika constituted an international emergency. It lifted that designation in November while maintaining its advice for pregnant women and travelers. To date, 29 countries have reported thousands of babies born with Zika-linked microcephaly, which causes abnormally small-sized heads, often signifying arrested brain development.

'Expect to see outbreaks'

Long-term efforts to fight the disease are required, such as against other infectious diseases, including malaria and dengue fever, Clarke said. "We should expect to see outbreaks. We saw it in Singapore, we will see it again." Angola said last month that it had recorded its first two cases of Zika virus. "In a couple of other countries we're doing some quite intensive surveillance work — Tanzania and some others — where we know there is the vector [the aedes aegypti mosquito], we know that there is chikungunya [another virus transmitted by mosquitoes], so really [we're] looking to see if we can find Zika," Clarke said.

There is no preventive treatment against Zika, but drug companies are rushing to develop a vaccine. There are about 40 vaccine candidates, and five are entering or about to enter initial testing for safety and ability to induce an immune response, said WHO's Dr. Bernadette Murgue. The five experimental vaccines, as listed on the WHO website, are made by Gene One Life Science / Inovio Pharmaceuticals; Moderna Therapeutics; and by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Murgue said it would take at least two to three years before such vaccines could be registered for human use.
