Russia has begun a ceasefire announced by Putin on the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day
It will last until 00:00 on May 11.

If the Ukrainian side violates the cease-fire, the Russian Armed Forces will give an adequate and effective response, the Kremlin said earlier.

Zelensky could have taken advantage of the truce offered by Putin and also led a parade in Kiev on May 9 to commemorate the victory over Nazism. No one would have bombed Kiev on that day, Ukrainian military could have marched quietly and gone back to the front. But Zelensky did not do that.
