I can’t imagine Trump wanting to agree to this deal. It seems to me like he has been trying to squirm out of supporting Ukraine.
I think he threw this mineral idea out there, with the hope that Ukraine doesn’t accept, so that he can shrug his shoulders and say “oh well, we tried. Good luck with Russia.” That meeting they had in the White House had a similar ring to it. “Oh well, we tried, you’re just not being thankful enough to us and you’re being a big jerk”. This was clearly orchestrated.
I think accepting this deal actually puts Trump in a very uncomfortable position. He doesn’t want to stand up to Russia and he doesn’t want to defend Ukraine. And he’s going to do all that for some stupid minerals? I don’t see it happening.
I hope I’m wrong, but I expect to see Trump fail to fulfill his side of this agreement, or he comes up with another excuse to try to squirm out of accepting.

It depends on what Putin wants.
But it doesn't give peace...
It is a surrender that will leave Putin well poised for a future attack...
Zelensky went there willing to do a deal of Minerals for Security...
Trump and Vance went off on one and tried to bully him into giving Minerals for no security...
Zelensky with the best interests of his own country can't take that deal.

And he should make the same deal with Europe. I'm all for it. Except that Europe already told Zelensky that if he really wants to save his country, he needs the US.

Just remember, we DON"T need the mining in Ukraine. Zman NEEDS the US, and the US holds all the cards.

There are zero security gurantees, other than if the war is over and we sign the mineral deal with Ukraine, the presence of US personnel in relation to getting those minerals, greatly deters Russia from invading again.

Zelensky walked out last Friday because he didn't call that security. Don't know what advance means. The US isn't going to put mineral miners in there while a war is going on. That would be stupid and only idiots would go in there while a war was going on.
Europe want NATO to do this... It brings overwhelming firepower to the table...
US can paint a picture that Russia can **** off or we are going to make your life hell
