This martial law contradicts the Ukrainian Constitution. The timing of parliamentary and presidential elections is defined by the Constitution. The paragraph 83 states that the parliament carries on to do its functions through the martial law period. The paragraph 103 doesn't have such provisions for the president.

Offhand, I'd say that Trump's plan for ending the war is simple: stop funding it and let Zelenskyy fight his own battles himself. If his neighbors want to chip in, that is their business.

Then I'd guess Trump would either expect repayment of all we've loaned him or we take over the land for ourselves.

You raise valid points. In the context of the US, if some states become predominantly Latin American and the majority of the population there gets to vote in favor of reuniting with Mexico - their 'historic motherland'. Will the federal government be oppressive if it cracks down on this will? I think yes.

The same with the draft. Basically, it is involuntary servitude. Defending the homeland should be based on natural will of the people, not on directives of a corrupted government.

I do speak Russian and in fact watch many Ukrainian politics/war bloggers. All of them support the war effort and exactly ZERO of them want Zelensky to fold. ZERO.
