The Ukranians probably would have lost early on without assistance, and Ukraine would have been spared the destruction and the huge amount of lives lost, but Biden went to work quickly to support and shore up the defenses under Zelensky by way of giving him money, weapons, and technology when asked.... NATO joined to help out also, and it did so in an attempt to support Biden who is the president of a member country, and as well to help the Zelensky regime hang in there for as long as it could in hopes to push the Russians back out of Ukraine with it's help.

If Putin doesn't quit however, then total devastation is almost certain to come to Ukraine out of the situation, because Zelensky won't stop now either.

We should have saw all of it coming, and we should have went directly into diplomacy peace mode by working heavily with both Putin and Zelensky before going into total assisting war mode in that theater.

I am not taking a leftist view point on this. I am taking a Military history viewpoint on this one. Each time Russia has tried to expand their borders (even during the USSR time) they failed. Guess what, when we tried to (more or less) expand ours in Vietnam, we failed for the same reason. When you have a determined local people that are willing to fight to prevent it, you are probably going to lose. Take a good hard look at Afghanistan. It's never been truly successfully invaded. Both the USSR and America can attest to this. But when the US Coolation defeated Saddam in Kuwait, it did it with such an overwhelming force. And it appears that Russia doesn't have that overwhelming force.

The Ukrainians are willing to tolerate the damage as long as they get to reciprocate. Russia is slowly going down the rabbit hole and cannot support the economic cost. In the end, like Vietnam and Afghanistan, Ukraine just has to bide it's time.

Ukraine is neiter Russian Vietnam nor Russian Afghanistan. Ukraine is Russian Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and part of Wyoming together. Retaking those lands (and those people) makes Russia stronger, not weaker.
