Zalensky unhappy about peace.

That’s ridiculous

The USA should NEVER have allowed it to start, cancelled the peace deal in April 22 and could have ended it anytime!

There was no peace deal in 2022.

Yes, the United States should have stepped in with NATO, and stopped the war. Which, of course, would require an American military presence in Ukraine.

And Russia had their puppet Trump stop the United States, and show us all the coward he really is.

He is afraid of Putin.

He could have done this a year ago but instead he listened to Boris Johnson. By now Ukraine could have been well into reconstruction, well into economic recovery and well into taking care of its people once again. If an election was held today he would be resoundingly voted out and he knows it. Ending the war also means ending his dictatorial control over the country. The Lost territory is not coming back... At least not anytime soon.

It's time to stop perpetuating the myth that the United States is the global policeman. The rise of China on the horizon is the new reality. The next step in international relations will be determining what our place will be in the new arrangement. A country with less than 5% of the world's population can no longer control the entire world... It is simply an unreasonable and unsustainable position.

But for the simple agreement not to join NATO not a single Russian tank would ever have breached the Ukrainian border, Ukraine would still have all of its territory and it wouldn't be lying and ruins from border to border the way it is today.

Too bad Zalensky couldn't see the ill intent of NATO's greed and complete disregard for the lives of Ukrainian citizens.

I would expect that he will move out of country and live comfortably on the enormous fortune he has amassed as a result of this war. Perhaps he can find another sugar daddy in the EU. Russia has mentioned that they have absolutely no problem at all should he decide to join the EU.

It certainly looks at this point as though all of the objections to peace are coming from the Ukraine and not from Russia.

Far more complicated than that.

Putin has been undermining the Ukraine for a long time. The only way to have stopped the war would have been to give into whatever Putin wanted. The NATO thing is just an excuse.

That was a well written post.

Alas, it is riddled with false and misleading claims. It’s Russian troll material from beginning to end.

Your assertion that they could have settled a year ago rests entirely on the assumption that Ukraine was willing to cede the territory that the Russians have been operating in since the Crimean invasion.

Russia did not invade Ukraine because it wouldn’t join NATO. Putin’s territorial ambitions and his oft stated desire to rebuild the USSR runs right through Kiev.

Moreover, Putin never publicly committed to that idea, and isn’t doing so now.

You’ll have to explain this business about “ NATO’s greed”.

Russia has no intention of honoring any peace deal with Ukraine.

Trump is on his knees, kissing Putin’s ass, and trying to hand Ukraine over.

And Putin is perfectly willing to let Trump (and the United States) prostrate to him by having him put on a big show of bullying Ukraine.

That all sounds good to me Frank. I'm just adding that Trump will be whacked by the millitary/Pentagon if he messes with the war.

America needs the win Frank. You'll see soon how Trump plans to bullshit his way out of his commitment.

What commitment are you talking about?

Shouldn't Zekensky have been a major player and included....how is trump trying for a peace agreement with only Putin and what Putin, the WAR CRIMMINAL wants? Screw your head back on, pretty please!😊

Seems like what Trump is doing is bigging Putin up, so Zelensky has to give in to Trump's demands that he can literally screw the Ukrainians over by taking their rare earth minerals super, super cheap.

It's like pretending to do someone a favor, by raping their whole family and their dog.

A weak Ukraine will always be at threat from Russia, and Trump wants a weak Ukraine. Putin has been undermining them for 25 years, and now Trump wants in on it.

He talks about how trade is unfair because of the balance of trade between other countries, now he wants a truly unfair deal with the Ukraine.

The sort of deal that led to the rise of Hitler after the WW1 deal with Germany.

Yep, Putin has been undermining the Ukraine for 25 years.

Belarus does what it's told, so it doesn't get invaded. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania got into the EU and NATO before Putin could do anything about it. The Ukraine was poor and has remained poor because of Russian interference.

This whole thing has two very funny aspects.

1. Democrats and the left are strident warhawks, making the GOP look like amateurs.

2. Every leftist here reads a CNN article and is suddenly an expert on military strategies and tactics.

On which case there were already an all-out nuclear war between Russia and the USA. Refusing to commit suicide isn't cowardice in any meaningful sense. Biden didn't want to commit suicide either.

There are no any significant deposits of rare earth in Ukraine.

It's like pretending to do someone a favor, by raping their whole family and their dog.
Yep. Do you remember how Americans fought first for independence of Phillipines from Spain, and for their dependence from the USA.

A weak Ukraine will always be at threat from Russia, and Trump wants a weak Ukraine.
And really strong Ukraine (stronger than modern Russia and the modern USA) definitely will be more dangerous for Europe (or even the USA) than a weak one. You don't like strong Russia - watch what you can get with two equally strong Russias. Say nothing about US capability to make Ukraine really strong.

Putin has been undermining them for 25 years, and now Trump wants in on it.
Why not? That's what America usually do.

He talks about how trade is unfair because of the balance of trade between other countries, now he wants a truly unfair deal with the Ukraine.

Actually Germany was rised because quite opposite situations. The effective sistem of equal safety in Europe wasn't really built (and even when it was more or less effective - the Brits did everything to destroy it).

Are you this dense??

Russia would not allow NATO on their doorstep

And so, the United State made it clear that they would block NATO me,bership.

Of course, that argument has long since become moot.

Wow, guy, really?

Even Neville Chamberlain didn't put this much work into trying to rationalize Appeasement.

Trump can't be planiing to end the war. He'll get whacked by the military if he tries it.

Truth is, he won't offer Putin what it takes for peace.

Say you heard it from Donald H first.

Is this what they are telling you on the Troll Farm, Donnie?

That all sounds good to me Frank. I'm just adding that Trump will be whacked by the millitary/Pentagon if he messes with the war.

America needs the win Frank. You'll see soon how Trump plans to bullshit his way out of his commitment.

Actually, Trump will do his best to sell out Ukraine, but the real question is, will the GOP finally declare him incompetent and invoke Amendment 25.

I think they have to wait for his approval rating to go lower to do that.

I was responding to a Putin apologist who was claiming that “we” should never let the invasion happen. And that we should have stepped in and forced a peace bsed on some imaginary proposal from 2022.

I was not advocating putting American troops in the Ukraine. I was just saying that his imaginary scenario would have demanded it.

It’s a moot point. There was no peace proposal in 2022.
