A Coffee Crop Withers
Fungus Cripples Coffee Production Across Central America

By ELISABETH MALKINMAY 5, 2014

A plant-choking fungus called coffee rust, or la roya, has swept across Central America, withering trees and slashing production everywhere. As exports have plunged over the last two years, the effects have rippled through the local economies.

Ohmahgawd! I can't deal with the thought of not having my morning, noon, and afternoon cups of coffee. What am I going to do?

Here I come....to save the day!

In reading a survival manual,I came upon this plan- used during WWII when coffee was unavailable.

There is an abundant roadside weed called Chicory. Blue flower.

Take the root, roast it, and grind it up.

Bitter....but almost passable.

Does it have CAFFEINE?

They have been saying this same thing for the last 2 years.
We still have coffee though.

Nothing wrong with stocking up on a year or two's worth before prices go up.
