Your First Car

I had an old 1939 Chevrolet. When I finished high school and got a job, I bought a 1956 Pontiac.

A brand new 1971 Mercury Comet when I was in high school.

My first was a 1968 AMC Javelin that I paid $35 for 'cause it wasn't going anywhere without a $700 transmission.

Fun car. Good times.

I gave 17 dollars and three 8track tapes for that Covair.

Huh. :eusa_eh:

I just realized that my current ride is also an AMC product, at least by heritage.

A 1941 Chevy, for $50. It was the first Chevy with no running boards. The compression was so bad that my friends had to push as I floored it going up steep hills.

I have to smile every time I remember that old 63 Galaxy.

I'm restoring a 66 GTO now

Cool! Do you have a decked out shop and every tool?
Just my garage

'Garage' can mean many things, Mr. F....

I imagine that if you restore cars for pleasure, you have a noteworthy investment in tools.

I have a screwdriver, a crescent wrench, and the business cards for 4 mechanics. :D
