I dont think they're being destroyed but there's zero reason to reduce staffing at national parks. The parks bring in a ton of money and for what those people are paid its a grain of sand in the universe.

Park fees bring in a lot of money, majority comes from taxes. I would prefer for the national parks to be up kept and clean, but they also could use some thinning of staff. Some of these highly visited parks probably could do with controls on the amount of visitors as well per day.

What I don't understand is what the left wants when it comes to American government debt. I have never heard them address our debt.

We're accumulating 1 more triillion dollars of debt every 100 days.

I have never heard the left say this is sustainable but I've never heard them say how to make it stop. They seem to reserve any commentary for blasting the right for trying to address our unsustainable debt.

How does the left want to address our $37 trillion in debt that we carry and the massive interest we pay for it?

It is an extension of how they live their everyday lives. They haven't got the common sense to understand that if they weren't paying that 14% to 26% interest on their CC debt, they would have that money to spend on the things they want. Instant gratification is what they desire---the future be damned.

To your point of keeping the parks up. That definitely needs to be done but at least an equal effort should be made to make the pig visitors pick up after themselves and follow the common sense rules. As for limiting visitors, Yosemite has been doing that for decades--the first time I became aware of it was in 1970. Glacier Nat'l Park in MT does it as well as Yellowstone.

I tend to agree, I prefer we take care of our natural spaces more, especially for other species habitat. I’ve always been a part of the outdoors, I belong to a number of wildlife support groups I contribute to. I grew up fishing and hunting, was taught to respect wildlife by my grandfather. I always thought it’d be cool to become a ranger or dnr officer something like that. I prefer to be more outdoors. They just don’t get paid enough so I went another route to make a lot more money, but I respect what they do.

Why didn't the right want to address the debt when Trump raised it by 33% in his first term? Why are people cheering on sending every American a $5,000 check to score political points when we need to reduce debt? Why are we talking about ending income taxes on tipped income and social security income when we need that revenue?

Presidents Musk and Trump are making big headlines slashing the federal workforce, but the total salaries of the federal workforce only amounts to 4% of the fed budget. If they lay off 300,000 federal workers that is a 10% reduction in staff, so they would cut federal spending by all of 0.4%. Woohoo. In fact it will probably be far less since a large portion of the cuts are targeted at employees with less than 2 years of service thus lower salaries. Either way it is a lot of headlines for not a lot federal budget reduction.

Healthcare and Education need to be made more efficient without reducing the services they provide to American citizens, those are the two of the largest slices of the budget pie and US already spends more than most other countries per person without better results. Defense is untouchable IMO because we have to match the rise in China's capability and military influence. Social security should be adjusted, not by reducing benefits but removing the payroll tax income tax. I'm not against tightening up welfare requirements but with a scalpel not a cudgel.

If you work somewhere, why don’t you hang a flag that somebody might not like and hang it outside your workplace building will and see how long you’re employed any current employees that participated in this, can be fired and they shouldn’t cry if they are.
