Yet another reason to go electric in vehicles

Likewise the more severe that change is the more personal we change our attitude towards life on this planet the greater the chances or that we will not only survive but we will flourish and reach our destiny.
There is no reason to change anything. If the market decides EVs are better then the change will take place without some crap like 'build back better' which is nothing but a political ploy. Stop being hysterical.

Yet another reason to go electric, an article on Wednesdays Omaha world herald December 29th 2021. Mexico to stop exporting oil in 2023. The US imported 599,000 barrels of oil a day from Mexico. They realize their oil fields won't last forever and they're keeping what they have for their own national self-sufficiency in fuel production. Fortunately US Auto companies are making the switch already that will help save us from $10 and $20 a gallon oil. Prices will be going through the roof, no more cheap oil. It's day is over. We may yet save the planet, despite ourselves.
That’s when Americans will be breaking into Mexico for a better life.

Leftists are absolutely Idiots. Electricity does not appear on its own; it requires power plants, which in the United States are mostly coal. If you gave up oil, you will have to pay for coal, but there is no coal-dollar for free coal in the USA

you know we tried this is the early 1900s and it failed. right?

THERE ARE NO good reasons to go with EV cars unless you like limiting yourself and all americans hence limiting your freedom and your freedom of movement.

Which is why i call the progressive voters , slaves. They dont like being free, but need others to take care of them,.. because of their stupidity.

and they're stupid. LOL They can't learn from history cause they don't know any history.

Like in California where they asked people to stop charging their EVs at home…because lack of power.

I don’t pay a fucking penny to coal generation.

It's not going to be cheaper, it's running out. There's only about 40 more years at best left in the total world supply.
Where have we heard that before?

Build Back Better is D.O.A. They're talking about stripping it out of infrastructure. It will take a long time to transition to all EV. In the meantime, it makes no sense to stop drilling and stop making gas fuel cars. Both can co-exist and IF EV's are indeed better because there is a legitimate market demand (not some stupid build back better crap) the market should be the entity to decide.
What do a third of motorists do that can't charge from home, walk 20 miles to a charge point? Do you do the shopping, drop the shopping and baby off at home, drive 20 miles to a charge point and hobble back home after your osteotomy operation, or, carry your baby back in the rain?

Do those that love EV's, have actually sat down and thought about others?

Yeah, yet another unknown factor.....Will they ever be able to shorten the charge time for a full charge? I mean, who wants to wait 8 hours for a full charge or even 35 minutes for a full charge when you can pump a tank of gas in just a few minutes.
  • Chevrolet Volt EV: 10 hours
  • Nissan Leaf: Up to 11 hours
  • Tesla Model S: 12 hours
  • Karma GS-6: 4 hours
  • Tesla Model 3: 12 hours
  • Porsche Taycan: Up to 10.5 hours
  • Mini SE Hardtop: 4 hours
  • Audi E-Tron: 10 hours
  • Polestar 2: 8 hours
  • BMW i3: 7 hours

The possibilities are endless, why not use both. Demand and industry will decide what is the best course.
Consumer demand controls industry, and progress happens. Ask any unemployed harpooner.

The costs of producing electricity from dirty fuels is currently either remaining stable or rising due to the costs of carbon capture and storage.

Overall costs of producing electricity from solar and wind are projected to continue to fall. Battery costs are also expected to fall.

(The added costs of CCS technologies has almost doubled the cost of both gas and coal electricity generation.)

As the world moves towards a future no longer dependent on dinosaur juice, new coal power plants are becoming more expensive to finance, thus making them less likely to be built.

Pay attention to those who have expertise and a vested interest, not to ideologues blowing gas:

Hitherto oil-dependent Saudi Arabia has instituted a renewable energy policy - "Vision 2030" - a strategic framework to reduce its economic dependence on its ever-depleting oil supply.

Norway has been a prosperous nation for quite some time, and hydropower has been the basis of its industrial development and prosperity for more than 100 years. Its plan to reduce its use of fossil fuels even further is not an unproven, quixotic pipe dream. For one of those, see Soyuz.

Where are the visionaries investing for the future? Elon Musk had the perspicacity to establish Tesla in 2003. He created countless jobs and spearheaded technological and engineering feats that dirty-fuelers had scoffed at.

In recent decades the cost of wind and solar power generation has dropped dramatically. This is one reason that the U.S. Department of Energy projects that renewable energy will be the fastest-growing U.S. energy source through 2050.

If this is your vision of the future, you're going to be disappointed.

Haven't Chinese cars been 3 years away for fifteen years?

Why is China beating the US in electric vehicles?

China wants to dominate the global electric vehicle market. The country has invested at least $60 billion to support the EV industry and it's pushing a plan to transition to all electric or hybrid cars by 2035. According to EV Volumes, China sold roughly one million more EVs than the U.S. in 2020.Mar 24, 2021

This thread seems to be much more about America rejecting the EV market, than a debate over which country is leading the way. America must make it's choice and then everybody might be able to get on the same page?
