Xi Jinping warns Trump US would 'lose from confrontation' with China as renewed trade war looms

So you surrender because they own you?

Try cutting government spending.

If Musk can actually find $2T in savings, that is a big deal. Ask Rand Paul to assist in the process.
We got a stable genius in charge now. So don't you worry your little head no more. And move on over here, we're about to get a new Golden Age. I would hate for you to miss it.

Hey I don't have a little head!

Sounds as if Xi is worried that Trump is going to try to win, something China doesn't want. I find it extremely difficult to see just what "cooperation" China has been providing considering their efforts spy on America and impact elections. The politicians from California and New York and a prime example of this influence.

Trump has a mandate and he must pursue it. Maybe Xi should answer for as to why they hacked into Trump, Vance and others phones. It is the MSS job to know what American leaders are doing, but when you get caught, there must be consequences.

China is the one policy issue that Biden did get correct to the point of maintaining and expanding some of Trumps tariffs.
Surely China doesn't believe Trump will do less than Biden did.

Chinese President Xi Jinping called President-elect Trump to congratulate him on his election win, and warned the U.S. would "gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation" with China.

The message comes as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) must prepare for deeper tensions as Trump has vowed to bring back the trade war of his last presidency with blanket tariffs.

"Xi Jinping noted that history tells us that both countries stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. A China-U.S. relationship with stable, healthy and sustainable development serves the common interests of the two countries," China’s foreign ministry said in a readout of the conversation.
First thing, the CCP will not own a single blade of grass in America

This is EXACTLY what I would expect Xi to say. Pay no attention to what people here say- Xi does not have TDS.

Xi is offering to pick up where they left off. Trump tariffed Chinese goods and raw materials to pressure Xi to buy more US AG products, and they negotiated hard over it. Trump got what he wanted, and Xi got what he wanted, which is for the US not to badger China on the Uighurs and Taiwan.

Xi knows Trump will want to help US manufacturing, and he also knows China has a lot of people to feed. He is saying "We got along before, and we can get along again." He's not being aggressive in his demeanor, he's offering an olive branch, with a diplo-speak reminder that the tree also has some thorns on it.

So a perfectly reasonable and cordial communication, and a good sign that there is probably not going to be any big flare-ups, at least not immediately.

China must not be allowed to take Taiwan though, that is the world must draw the line.

The other negotiations, tariffs and such, that is secondary but critical. China is making hundreds of billions a year in the trade imbalance.

Not for long.
The US should develop a plan to substantially cut spending and reduce its deficit for a long-term perspective. And after that it will be 'not for long'.

Well, that cinches it. We MADE China and we can BREAK China
Too funny. The Americans should definitely prohibit teaching history and geography in schools. It makes things only worse.

Taiwan is not so easy to take- it's an amphibious assault and China would lose a lot of ships in the effort. Honestly, if Xi thought he could pull it off he would have done it while Biden was President.

Xi will continue to harass Taiwan as expected, but probably will lighten up when Trump takes office because he (Xi) will want to show a willingness to get along. An aggressive move on Taiwan after Trump takes office would be the opposite- it would be seeking confrontation before trying cooperation.

Trump will be bombastic publicly, but I think he has also tempered a little bit in his demeanor. We'll see.

The past is prologue. Trump will want to boost US manufacturers and get China to buy US AG products. To the extent that alters the balance of trade is very difficult to predict. We do want US dollars in foreign currency reserves, because transactions are cleared in US dollars (and we want it to stay that way).

History bonebrain? China was a 3rd world country when we found them. We built them up into what they are today so they could make all of our plastic crap for us. We gave them manufacturing technology, computer technology, and yes, military technology. Trump will give Xi an attitude adjustment.

Don't want to disappoint you junior, but the world history spans a little further from the 20th or even 19th centuries. When you 'found' them, China came out from 'a century of humiliation', severe civil war, and crazy Mao dictatorship. In other words, they were not in a too good shape.

Do I need to tell you that that was only one or two pages in their history book, while that period encompassed 2/3 of American 'history'?

Gee, its no wonder you only have 2000 likes in nearly ten years. I actually know a good bit about the history of China going all the way back to their very beginnings. And I particular know China as we dealt with them directly beginning in the 20th century.

What else do you expect him to say? Count on China (and Russia) to feed disinformation to the willing minions like Woodward and Bernstein and the slobbering idiots in the mainstream media for the next couple of months to undermine the new administration.

How about we start destroying some of those artificial islands in the eastern Pacific?

Liberals have NEVER been all for "made in America." Their goal for nearly a century has been "tear down America." It's all right there in their holy book.

Yeah go after the companies and bankrupt them, that will fix things!

It's the government's job to protect our borders and send back people not here legally.

I'd rather support South Korea, Japan and the Philippines in the great Asian power struggle, but keep sucking that ChiComm dick.
No, you don’t understand. Go after a couple companies, the others will stop doing it. Many many small business owners I know personally refused to hire guys I knew who were good because they were only here on a student visa. Not a worker visa.

And don’t use the argument they were given fake documents. If you’re gonna be rounding up illegals well we all know food processing plants and hotels who hire lots of Spanish speaking individuals. I would start there. And no, don’t bankrupt the owner. Just a $50,000 fine the first time you are caught.

Show us the fake documents you were given. Show us you used everify.

You don’t want to fix this. But you better because you promised.

My guess is to win Latinos over trump will make them all legal because we need them. I’m good with that.
