Xi Jinping warns Trump US would 'lose from confrontation' with China as renewed trade war looms

No, you don’t understand. Go after a couple companies, the others will stop doing it. Many many small business owners I know personally refused to hire guys I knew who were good because they were only here on a student visa. Not a worker visa.

And don’t use the argument they were given fake documents. If you’re gonna be rounding up illegals well we all know food processing plants and hotels who hire lots of Spanish speaking individuals. I would start there. And no, don’t bankrupt the owner. Just a $50,000 fine the first time you are caught.

Show us the fake documents you were given. Show us you used everify.

You don’t want to fix this. But you better because you promised.

My guess is to win Latinos over trump will make them all legal because we need them. I’m good with that.

LOL, easier to deport their asses and make a real border.

Also, if they can't work, blue locations will just continue to keep them on the dole.

The Latinos that voted for him don't want massive unfettered immigration.

Sounds as if Xi is worried that Trump is going to try to win, something China doesn't want. I find it extremely difficult to see just what "cooperation" China has been providing considering their efforts spy on America and impact elections. The politicians from California and New York and a prime example of this influence.

Trump has a mandate and he must pursue it. Maybe Xi should answer for as to why they hacked into Trump, Vance and others phones. It is the MSS job to know what American leaders are doing, but when you get caught, there must be consequences.

China is the one policy issue that Biden did get correct to the point of maintaining and expanding some of Trumps tariffs.
Surely China doesn't believe Trump will do less than Biden did.

Chinese President Xi Jinping called President-elect Trump to congratulate him on his election win, and warned the U.S. would "gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation" with China.

The message comes as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) must prepare for deeper tensions as Trump has vowed to bring back the trade war of his last presidency with blanket tariffs.

"Xi Jinping noted that history tells us that both countries stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. A China-U.S. relationship with stable, healthy and sustainable development serves the common interests of the two countries," China’s foreign ministry said in a readout of the conversation.
Xi seems to have a very different view of the US then from when his admin said we no longer came from a position of strength after xiden and harris took office

I also don’t think they want the economy to crash because we lost 10,000 good workers.

I wonder if trump Latinos will help with the round up. They know who they are.

Wow, what a case of stereotyping.

Xi is just playing tough to show citizens he can stand up against the US. He knows if China's economy collapses, the CCP may have their hands full.

Gee, its no wonder you only have 2000 likes in nearly ten years. I actually know a good bit about the history of China going all the way back to their very beginnings. And I particular know China as we dealt with them directly beginning in the 20th century.
Counting likes is your attempt to win in a discussion? Poor boy.

Back to the topic. Or more correctly to your fallacy 'we made China, and (thus) we will destroy it'. Indeed, China heavily relied on Western technology and science when it started its economic reforms in the late 1970s. It was considered as a win-win solution back then - the American administration expected to see China as a rising middle power that can challenge the Soviet Union; and the Chinese grabbed the opportunity to get access to the West in terms of industry and later the market.

But after almost 50 years when this policy started, China turned into an industrial and economic powerhouse with global influence. Yes, their ability to project force is still far less than American one. But they seem not too concerned about that, because they seek to widen their influence through economic domination.

No just pointing out that a lot more people apparently agree with me than you.

So in other words, you agree that WE MADE CHINA. Gee, you sure do think an awful lot about Red China!
Not so good at winning arguments you started though. Maybe you and Tim Walz ought to get together and take a trip there!

The last time Trump took on China it costs taxpayers billions of dollars.

Cool. I hope that makes you feel more confident.

'Made' is not a right word there. Because it implies some form of subjugation in that context. It was intended as a form of cooperation. And China managed to get everything they wanted out of that.

You and 'a lot more people' fail to distinguish between admitting reality and veneration or advocating or something like that. There are plenty of things I don't like about China. But reality is that they won't disappear in nowhere and their influence will be only growing. And your 'cowboy' approach to other countries and international relations won't reverse that.

I remember in the 2000's when REPUBLICANS were selling us on doing business with China, they loved the cheap shit we were getting from China. Us liberals didn't like it. We argued that we'd rather pay more but buy American. It's worth it. We lost that argument.

Now today we are having the same argument. But now BUY AMERICAN might hurt me and hurt the economy. Even Republicans are telling us get ready for some imminent short term pain. Pain on this and pain from all the cuts they are going to make to social programs. But in the long run it'll all MAGA.

I don't want to flip flop now. I say STOP buying from China.

You know, Trump didn't have to buy his bibles from China. He could have paid a little more and bought American made bibles. This is why I tell you people when it comes to things like going green, this stuff has to be mandated. You can't expect Trump to pay $2 a bible when he can buy them for 50 cents from China. You have to FORCE him to buy American with laws, regulations, tariffs.

Suddenly Republicans are all for government interference in the free market and regulations. I love it!
What is this imminent 'short term pain" ? Who has mentioned this? No american should have to go through what you have mentioned here. Nobody supports this.

Its not as simple as that

Liberals have long been the Embrace-the-World globalists

And even today you have libs like Arlette who deny that china is our enemy but presumably a harmless panda bear and trading partner who wants to be our friend

Prior to Trump Repubs in congress did buy the pro china hype just as the democrats did

But many of them are gone and good riddance

This I do agree with

When Trump started a trade war with China in 2019, that's what Republicans here told me when I complained that it was hurting my company. Lots of companies and employees will be hurt if we tarriff. BUT, that's just imminent short term pain. Ultimately we will be better off if we are buying American. Even if that means paying more, which it will. No doubt. So will sending illegals home. Then those companies have to pay American workers, will cost more. Duh. But that's just imminent short term pain. Supply and demand says wages are going to go up. So will the cost of products. Duh

If Musk eliminated half the government, that's a good thing right? But it would certainly cost short imminent pain right?

Elon Musk has offered a sobering preview of Donald Trump’s economic plan for America if he is re-elected, revealing that a period of intentional “temporary hardship” is on the horizon for American households. Rather than cautioning against it, Musk described this hardship as necessary and inevitable, supporting Trump’s blueprint for restructuring the economy by slashing government programs. Musk’s remarks, shared in a Telephone Town Hall organized by his America PAC, indicate that he and Trump see economic pain to average Americans as a necessary cost of their policy goals.

It's necessary to punish average households?

Good question to ask is are we China's enemy? Fuck no. We are a strategic partner. Not friends. Not pals. Partners. One partner just negotiated a better deal for themselves.

Remember, we wanted their free shit. And our corporations want to sell shit in China.
Our “strategic partner” gave the world COVID. Pile of rocks, wake up.

Biden increased the tariffs. Democrats are silenced and claimed the economy is great.
