Would You Want to Live Forever?

I will be dead in 2060 and you can find me on tv in 2050 when I beat the crap out of some young ruffian who attacks me

Have to grow a bigger planet if no one ever died.
talk about claustrophobia.. ugh.

I'm not talking about Heaven either. I'm talking about whether or not if you had the chance to drink a magical spring that would give you everlasting life here on earth would you do it? Why or why not? Here's why I wouldn't. (Pay no attention to the title btw.)

Yes, It's tougher than it sounds though and I must qualify it.

If I could be in the health I was at age 21 and continues in that way forever, yes, only as long as my soul would remain though until I passed. If so, I know I would die at some point anyways, be it getting into a plane crash, being hit by a meteor or living until the sun swallows the earth.

Living forever would only mean not decaying, it wouldn't prevent from the inevitable death by other means that would eventually occur, even if it were 4000 years from now.

A few hundred years in decent shape would be nice.
Life is too damn short, and there is too much shit I still want to do.

Sure, 1 reason and 1 only.

Compound interest.
You should get a friggin prize for best answer, so far! Congrats! Glad to see I'm not the only one still having a good time and looking to the future. A lot of people on here entirely too bummed out.
I would take the potion, but take it knowing I might very well live to regret it in the distant future.

The notion of being dead someday scares me more than just about anyone else, but I would have to say no.
Why? If your a Christian you go to heaven, if your an atheist you are just dead, no more tomorrows for enterinty you are just dead

Look at this poor man. He's like 250 yrs old

Staying where we are would only mean that we would never know about what else may be out there and so no, I would not want to go on forever in the way that we currently are.

God bless you always!!!

It ain't dyin I'm afraid of- it's the road I take getting there. I don't want to die in a horrible way and I don't want to take a couple painful years getting dead.

You aren't even close to being alone in having a good time and looking to the future. I'm one of the chirpiest people I know, I just see too many drawbacks to living 147,000 years.

Here's the thing: I'm retired and 71 years old, so if I could rejuvenate myself AND REMAIN RETIRED, Hell Yes, I would want to live a lot longer.

But I have to say, for those who are 40 and think they can stay young and healthy by exercising, "You are kidding yourself." The body deteriorates, and to some extent it deteriorates faster because of all the abuse you heaped on it when you were younger. Running may make you feel healthy when you are young, but it erodes everything from the waist down, so if you can, I would recommend switching from running to something that is less jarring on your parts.

I want to go to Biloxi for black Friday 2021 and be killed in a hail of bullets in a massive fight over a toaster oven.

I was just actually going to say that my other reason for wanting to die someday is that I want to go to Heaven to be with Jesus and all my other loved ones again, but it was just a curious question who all would choose to live forever on earth if that wasn't an option or something and it wasn't supposed to be based upon anybody's beliefs. So, I didn't want it to turn theological.

Living forever and being insane for most would be living hell.

I don't know if being sane living in times like these would be very pleasant either LOL

Absolutely. Yes. Because one day this planet will be uninhabitable to humans. I assume I would die when this planet is burned up by our dying star? Or would I have to live on mars by myself? Then absolutely no.

Im watching a show on vampires. They live forever but only if they aren’t killed. They can still be killed when a meteor hits or from nuclear war right?

I would imagine that like anything else in life, enough is enough and you want out.

53 years so far it’s not nearly enough. How many more deer seasons will I get to enjoy?

You know these vampires could just put a steak thru their hearts but they never do.

Enough is enough because we get old and decrepit

Yes.

What's the point, for example, of hanging around in wheel chair in a nursing home having people feed you and wipe your ass because you're too feeble to do anything for yourself?

Like I've said before, there's a big difference between living and being alive.
