Zone1 Would Jesus support Donald Trump if alive today?

How do you explain the great commission?
Jeremiah 25:15-38 parallels almost verbatim the so called great commission.

I have not come to bring peace but a sword" (Jesus H. Christ)

From his mouth there went a sharp sword with which to SMITE "the nations." Rev 19:15

Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all "the nations" to whom I send you drink it. WHEN THEY HAVE DRUNK IT THEY WILL VOMIT AND GO MAD; such is THE SWORD that I am sending among them. (Jeremiah 25:15)

"Take this cup of wine and drink it, all of you. This is a cup of my blood, the blood of the covenant."

"Just art thou, in these thy judgments, thou Holy One who art and wast; for they shed the blood of thy people and of thy prophets and thou hast given them blood to drink"

So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand and made all the nations drink from it, each one to whom the LORD had sent me, to make them a ruin, an object of horror and contempt and cursing, as they are to this day—Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and officials; Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officials, his leaders, and all his people; all the mixed tribes; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod; Edom, Moab, and the Ammonites; all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea; Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who cut the corners of their hair; all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed tribes who dwell in the desert; all the kings of Zimri, Elam, and Media; all the kings of the north, both near and far, one after another—all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshach will drink it too.

“Then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, because of the sword I will send among you.’

If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink it, you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘You most certainly must drink it! For behold, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears My Name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the LORD of Hosts.’

:wine:

The sword is a curse under the appearance of a cup of wine. Jesus was commanded by my God to commission his disciples to SMITE the nations. Thats the deal you're dealing in.

Mission accomplished. :cul2:

No, no hidden secrets when it comes to what God wants from us.
The "King of Sheshach" mentioned in the Book of Jeremiah (25:26, 51:41) is a cryptic reference to the King of Babylon, most likely Nebuchadnezzar II"Sheshach" is a likely pseudonymous, name for Babylon created using the Atbash cipher, a Hebrew code that reverses the alphabet.
  • Meaning: The name Sheshach (ששך) corresponds to Babel (בבל) using the Atbash code (Sh-Sh-Ch becomes B-B-L).
  • Context: Jeremiah uses this term when prophesying that Babylon will drink the cup of divine wrath after other nations, signifying its eventual downfall.
  • Significance: It served as a veiled reference to a dominant power during a dangerous time, ensuring only attentive readers understood the prophecy.

And this entire time I thought it was God's way of a play on words - "Sheshach" sounds a lot like "She-Shack". (A woman's version of a man cave.) :)

All joking aside - have you ever played the game, "Whisper down the lane" as a child? You whisper a sentence into the ear of the person next to you - and every person continues to whisper it - until it reaches the last person 10-20 people down the line - and the entire sentence changes - both in words and meaning.

Throughout the first 1000+ years after the events of Genesis, the vast majority of the Old Testament books - both the Law and the Prophets were spoken orally - and it went on until about 700-600 BC (The earliest known written scrolls). It is through faith that people believe what they state as being from God - through FAITH.

For a humanist/secularist - like yourself - how do you justify the writings with no true spiritual faith? For the ONLY way the writings of the Law and the Prophets could remain true is through divine intervention and FAITH.

It is simple - if 20 people cannot repeat a single sentence accurately, how could millions of people repeat thousands of detailed works over thousands and thousands of years?

You can quote detailed explanations and translations ad nauseum - but everything you quote is based on spiritual faith in divinity - whether you believe it or not.

Oh, THAT'S the Scripture you take literally? You think Jesus is going to show up with a big knife coming out of His mouth?

Ha ha. Yes, it was called telephone when I was a kid.

I disagree. If a person reads the story of the three pigs it would require faith for them to "believe" it was a historical document about a magical time in the past when pigs could talk and build houses, but to understand the moral teaching, what was never written down, it requires sober, rational, intelligence. Not faith. Faith, without ruminating, will never enlighten anyone to the teaching of any story intended by the author to be understood by children.

How? Easily. If the person understands the moral teaching of the story minor details can change and and even major embellishments can be added which does in no way adulterate or change the original teaching, the moral of the story that was never written down.

When was the last time you read the story of the three pigs? Many decades ago? I bet that even you can retell that story orally and not screw up the moral teaching of the story, even if you turned the pigs into men and the big bad wolf into a hideous bellowing orange creature.

If you can't do that, you have my condolences.

But take heart! "Others" can.

Wow. One day you will be extremely embarrassed by that completely clueless response. However, I hope that you learn something from the SHAME. Jesus' death won't save you.

Purify your own mind and be refined. No faith required. Just honest self reflection and action. Not words, lip service; "Praise God!" "Hallelujah!" "Thank you Jesus!" "Ooh ooh ahh ahh!"

The command of Jesus was to eat his flesh (accept his teaching) and drink his blood (do it).

LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD. In the doing.

Sounds like you believe Jesus really will show up with a big knife coming out of His mouth.

- only if the desert dwellers are all that remain ... otherwise most likely - all will be well.

Seriously? Damn.

If thats what it 'sounds' like to you you really need to tend to the discombobulated state of your own mind. Every time I squeeze your head a foul and smelly pus comes oozing out.

Purify your own mind and be refined. No one can do it for you. Not God, not Jesus, not a priest, preacher, counselor, or therapist. No matter how many times you say "Praise God!"

Ooooh, there's the gentle, humble attitude coming out. You do realize, don't you, that you totally belie all your claims of humility by acting like that, right?

Oh damn, have I offended your delicate ears? lol.

You do realize how faith in my God and love for truth is expressed differs from one person to the next, right? Some people need a gentle hand others need a swift kick in the ass. Enjoy!

IOW, you believe in situational ethics. God says, "Love your neighbor as yourself". you say, "I'll love who I want and when I want, and I will decide, not God".

What is wrong with this picture?

Whats wrong with it? You put words into my mouth and then comment on that while avoiding what I actually said. Even so by telling you that you are already in hell well along the way that leads to DESTRUCTION (not eternal torment) I am demonstrating love for my neighbor as myself who would want someone to tell me I fucked up by worshiping an imaginary mangod.

That would apply if it were true. It is not, therefore it does not.

If you can live with that smelly bullshit festering in your addled head, be my guest! The truth is that if you had any faith at all you would be praising God right now for having been given an opportunity, time, to bear fruit worthy of repentance while you are still lurking on earth.

Oh, but I have, long ago. I've known Yeshua since I was born again when I was a child.

Well that explains everything. Brainwashing. I have known that the maudlin story you believe about a trinity becoming a supernatural mangod was a bullshit story ever since I was a child.

I thank my God every day that I was born immune to the deadly poison of talking serpents.

Then you haven't read the Bible, only made up something that's palatable to your preconceived opinions.

Never saw any talking serpents around when I was a child either.

Well I have.

When I was living in the wilderness among the wild beasts doing what wild beasts do in the wilderness I was tempted by a devil, a descendant of the talking serpent of old, who tried to get me to "confess" that I was a worthless piece of sinning shit, beg God to forgive me for being human, and get down on my knees to worship the Antichrist as my God and savior. I asked myself, "What would Jesus do?" So I said **** off and he fucked off and disappeared.

A genuine miracle!

Right now there is a plague of talking serpents running amok worldwide. Open your eyes.
