It is interesting to note that after Jesus told them he was about to be arrested and killed he washed the disciples feet and said "the greatest among you must be servant to the least". Then, at the last supper, they started arguing about who was going to be the greatest in an imaginary government which told Jesus they only cared about themselves, didn't give a **** about him, and didn't understand a single word he said about the kingdom of God.

There was a time when I viewed it pretty much that way as well, [and I was NOT impressed].

Lately I see it as give our lives and time to Messiah Yeshua - Jesus or end up in an afterlife realm with "godless" people just like ourselves, just as selfish and "godless" as we have became.

If we learn humility and love and thankfulness we will end up in an afterlife realm with others like ourselves, [I believe that is true even if we tend toward skepticism or Atheism]. Near death experiencer Mellen Benedict ended up being shown a fantastic view of the afterlife realms in spite of the fact that he termed himself as an "Atheist" at the time of his 1982 near death experience.

What you have is the energy equation in spirituality. Ultimate Godhead does not care if you are Protestant, Buddhist, or whatever. It is all a blooming facet of the whole. I wish that all religions would realize it and let each other be. It is not the end of each religion, but we are talking about the same God. Live and let live. Each has a different view. And it all adds up to the Big Picture; it is all important.

i like john fugelsang - whose parents are a former jesuit brother & his mom a catholic nun... so he knows a little bit about jesus & the hypocrisy of those that think they own religion.

You make good points. Former Atheist Mellen Benedict was shown during his near death experience that churches and pretty much all religions make the error of thinking that their religion is the only one that really understands the big picture.

Again, I've given you what I know and I WON'T pretend I know everything that He is thinking about the subject. I've answered your question, now answer mine, which doesn't require you to know the mind of God at all. Would you prefer that we were not given a true choice to follow God and that we were just robots? You certainly do NOT like having the option to make your choice, so would you prefer not having a choice?

It's an easy question because it's all about what you would prefer, so have at it.

The same reason you got married even though you knew divorce was a risk... love. Not everyone gets divorced. Not everyone separates themselves from God. Based on your logic you would never do anything because there was a risk of failure.

OMG This is why I talk about your comprehension.
God is supposedly omniscient. If he is omniscient, he already knows what choices people will make. He knows if they will worship or not. Free will has nothing to do with his supposed omniscience.
So why would he create people KNOWING he would end up torturing them for eternity?
