Would anyone go to see a female lead sci fi movie...if it wasn't supported by the words "Star Wars?"

The truth is.....boys and men go to see action movies, women do not.......that is the general rule. As such they like to see men in the lead......and unless you have a successful video game lead in to a movie like Tomb Raider, if you have a female lead, the movie will not do as well...

The question is...with the new P.C. nature of Star Wars....would any of these sci fi movies have done well if they didn't have Star Wars in the title? Would these movies draw audience if they were originals, and had female leads to headline the movie?

I think not.......

So.....lazy, P.C. hollywood has to pass off their P.C. agenda like hilary...on the Coat tails of others who are successful......

A recent case in point......Mila Kunis....Jupiter Ascending...true...it was just a bad movie.....but did the fact that she was the lead hurt the money it made....until of course the first showing killed it once everyone saw it was a horrible movie and tweeted and facebooked it to death?

Um, greatest hand to hand combat scene EVER in one of the finest sci-fil films ever made. And it's two females fighting and there was nothing PC about it.

BTW, I LOVE action films, you narrow minded individual.

I would much rather go see an action/horror/sci-fi flick than a chick flick at ANY time. I LOATHE chick flicks.

Look I agree with ya in flicks like GhostBusters. It was stupid trying to remake it. It was fine as it is, but I have no problem with a female lead in an action/sci-fi flick. It's been done before and with great success.

The sex of the lead doesn't matter. What matters is the quality of the film. Mila is one of the best bang for your buck actresses in Hollywood. Jupiter Ascending was an unwatchable film for the most part, but that was the writer/directors fault. Not hers. If you have a good actress, in a well written role, in an exciting movie, it will go gangbusters.

Alien was a horror film....then Aliens was created as an action film.....and almost all of the fighting is done by the marines, it isn't until the end that she fights the queen...just like women do in horror films.....When sci fi geeks dress up at conventions...it is as the marines...not Ripley.........the video games...again, the Marines...not Ripley...
