So much for mighty China taking over the world. They can’t even replace their population and have virtually zero immigration. India is now the most populous nation. Lots of news here.

This month, Yi plumbed what appears to be the biggest known hack in human history — the theft of personal records of about 1 billion Chinese citizens from police in Shanghai — and found it confirmed his view of a nation atrophying years earlier than expected.

“Births began to decline in 1991,” he wrote. “Population is now less than 1.28 billion, not the official 1.41 billion; population began to shrink in 2018, not 2031 as officially predicted.” This nearly 10 percent decline in just four years means India is now the most populated nation — and that India, not China, may be the biggest threat to U.S. pre-eminence, especially as its education system keeps improving and its population keeps growing, albeit slowly.

That explains the CCP scrapping the 1 child policy. They'll now allow up to 3

India's got their own problems going on.
Their nuclear armed neighbor in Pakistan is collapsing to Taliban like forces & it's not like they were BFF to begin with.
They have wild animals attacking & killing people frequently still to this day.
I believe the Plague pops up there occasionally as well.

India overtaking China is the largest population is not new news. India has its own problems. They will electrify one house in a village and then declare the whole village electrified. They are pretty good at cooking their own books as well. My favorite is their bold climate pledges to which the commit no money. They just declare anything a company or individual does as the government's effort.

So no one else is going ask WTF is going on in the top photo..? Seems bizarrely out of place...

The information in the OP is been common knowledge for many years

Their population could decline every year for 50 years and they would still have a much bigger population than the US.

Hacked data is unreliable at best, fraudulent at worst. Take it with a grain of salt. This whole 'hack' could be a Chinese operation to identify hostile actors.

A source better than The DailyCaller would be preferable, but the basic reality of China’s population declining rapidly, and the unreliability of Chinese statistics, is old news.

The remarkable urbanization and improvement of Chinese average living standards has brought dramatic change. Whether declining population alone will hurt China’s economy is less clear. The older generation is probably not going to be treated much better than it is now, though of course those with private resources will do alright. The real question is if the state can and will continue to aid the new generation to be the best educated and technically prepared generation in Chinese history.

Chinese low skill factories have been moving to other countries for quite awhile, as even rural youth that migrate to cities now prefer to work in service industries that pay better and are less demanding. Young women are resisting pressures to have more children — and married couples are resisting having children early. Young people must study and work hard to get ahead, and they also now have their own ideas of what the “good life” involves.

These changes will likely be countered by state assistance to families, but I doubt if that alone will be sufficient. What is true is that China must continue to move up the production chain and keep improving its per capital capital and educational allotment if it wants to stay competitive on a world scale.

The bureaucratic political regime kills individual creativity, but has shown remarkable flexibility in the past when faced with obstacles. The West is consciously trying to cripple Chinese high tech industry, which may ultimately only result in driving China to consciously invest more in these areas.

The social problems in China have always been intense, and each generation in recent decades has struggled. There are certainly new elements that want to “drop out” from the “rat race,” but criminality and drugs are simply not tolerated there.

And we have people here who screech about immigration being our biggest problem.
