I cannot say why the M. Larry Laurence scandal failed to make the cut since it is impossible to separate Billās scandals from Hillaryās; so Iāll call it scandal number 23.
The co-presidents had one of their pals, M. Larry Laurence, buried at Arlington Cemetery? When the truth about his ineligibility was discovered, the wealthy widow, Shelia Laurence, had to move Larry to different digs so to speak.
It seems that Larry Laurence was buried at Arlington because he had survived being torpedoed on a merchant ship during WWII. When the Larry Laurence fraud was exposed, Bill Clinton was forced to order an investigation āā but only after Larry had been planted in Arlington. It turned out that he was never on the ship.
I know a little about shipping articles. Merchant seamen sign articles at the beginning of every voyage. They sign their names below their typewritten names. There is also a space below the first signature where a seaman signs when articles are broken at the end of a voyage. The two signatures are easily compared. Signing on, and signing off, used to be done in the presence of a shipping commissioner:
Articles used by merchant ships are on very long, and wide, sheets of paper containing carbon copies. The conditions of the articles are found at the top. There are foreign articles, coastal articles, and intercoastal articles. Basically, articles mean that the ship can only go to the places listed. Foreign articles list the maximum agreed upon length of the voyage, and usually include the entire world.
One copy of articles stays with ship in the event a man signs off, or on, in a foreign country. Another copy goes to the company office. The government gets a copy. Eventually, every surviving copy come together with the governmentās copy for storage in a Washington-based archive. During World War Two I believe that was the Maritime Commission.
In any event, each ship during its lifetime makes many voyages. Those voyages are numbered. When the FBI was doing an eligibility check on good old Larry before he was planted, why didnāt someone walk over to where those articles are stored and simply look up the ship and voyage number? If Laurenceās name wasnāt on the articles there is no way in hell he was aboard when the SS Horace Bushnell was torpedoed.
Itās possible for a man to sign articles in a foreign country. Then his name would only appear on the shipās copy. That could not have happened in good old Larryās case because the Bushnell was torpedoed on its maiden voyage after leaving the US. It never made it to a foreign port. At the time, I did not call FBI investigators sloppy, but something was out of whack with the entire M. Larry Laurence Saga. One thing was clear: The Clintons so disrespect Americaās military people, they had no trouble burying a fraud in Arlington Cemetery.
Incidentally, the Laurenceās donated quite a bit of money to Democrats. Has anybody checked to see if Shelia donated to the Clinton Foundation?
One final observation. Hillary Clintonās scandals are not much different than the things the wives of kings and dictators get up to. God help us if she becomes a dictator-queen in her own right.
