Wisconsin Giving Tax Surplus to the People!

Well, holy shit, joey boy, conservative policies work. always have, always will.

liberalism always fails, always has, always will.

You obviously don't spend a lot of time in Wisconsin, do you?

Or you'd know how silly you sound.

Wisconsin's economy is entirely supported by IL residents going there on vacation.

And Milwaukee and Green Bay are really pretty dismal places.

That sounds terrible. What if people in Illinois stay home?

Then Wisconsin becomes a more pleasant, less corrupt state?

The soon to be indicted (liberals tell us this) Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker announced a plan for returning almost a billion dollars to the taxpayers.

Give the surplus back to Wisconsin taxpayers

How much this must hurt the liberals and the collective bargaining unions.

Kind of depends.

How much more will Wisconsin's schools suck because they are underfunded.

Joe's lying once again. Will the lies ever end???

Wisconsin ranks 13th best state for education, well ABOVE the national average.

And in another survey for 2014, Wisconsin ranks above the national average:

My but you are full of shit Joe.

How much will the quality of state services drop?

Care to cite a objective source to back this one up Joe? Or shall we just take your ever-so-reliable word for it???

There is a lot more to it than just a score. After what Republicans have done to the school system in Wisconsin, let's go back in say 7 or 8 years and see where they rank.

You can buy a new car and never take care if it. But eventually, not taking care of it will "catch up" and it will fall apart. We see that with everything Republicans touch.

Hmmm, really? Wisconsin exists as a vacation place for Ill residents???

Wow, have you told the dairy industry, the meat packing industry, the defense industry. It is dismal in the winter, but so are most northern cities. Been to the shithole called Detroit lately?

My neice tried to get a job in Wisconsin.

She eventually gave up and moved back here and got a job here right away.

Now, I will give Walker some credit.

I think compared to mutants like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and a lot of the rest of the GOP clown car, he's probably the best the GOP has to offer right now after Chris Christy Exploded.

Notice how right wingers don't even question where the surplus came from?

If you cut a billion from education, it's remarkable how easy it is to end up with a billion dollar surplus.

Course, you end up with a failed southern state. Perhaps it's Republicans doing what they do best. Keeping people ignorant while they ruin the economy.

That's because we've paid attention to the articles which describe perfectly where the surplus was coming from. Including the information on how it's unexpected because of job growth being significantly higher than expected.

See that's what happens when conservatives are in charge. The government gets out of things, people have jobs, and everyone gets more money back because there are more people working.

I was listening to the turnaround of Wisconsin because of Walkers polices, but haven't had the opportunity to look into it. Seems he turned a 6 billion dollar deficit into a surplus in 3 years. Not bad at all.

When are you going to look into it? After you vote for him in the 2016 primary?

Walker gives the money back to the people.

What?

When did Walker announce?

Yeah...........You should look into that failing streak you have going on there.

Guy, this has nothing to do with what Walker did.

Wisconsin has always been on the higher end of education stats.

Cash-strapped Wisconsin school districts brace for Walker's second budget proposal : Wsj

Bill Foster, president of Slinger-based School Perceptions, which has advised more than 100 school districts in Wisconsin over the past decade on budget planning, called next year's budget situation "bad." Some districts are facing severe cuts for the first time and others that have already cut programs may be facing a downward spiral as students use the state's growing open enrollment program to attend a neighboring district, costing the home district funding.

The recent recession also is contributing to school district financial woes, as the housing market slump may be discouraging districts from taxing the maximum allowable amount, UW-Madison economist Andrew Reschovsky said. The number of referendums allowing districts to exceed the property tax limit also is down in recent years, though the rate that voters are approving them reached a high in 2011.

Here's more of the good Scott Walker has done for education in Cheeseland.

Nine Reasons to Reclaim Wisconsin

Walker proposed $840 million in cuts for the next two years. That's a brutal slashing of a public ed. system that has been struggling for years to make-do with the revenue caps put in place in 1993. My district has repeatedly proposed referendums that allow for an increase in property taxes so that schools can make necessary repairs, keep class size low, maintain quality extracurriculars and the arts, etc. Under Walker, districts would not be allowed to do that. Again, so much for local control.
Republicans want to lift caps on virtual schools (take money from districts to pay for kids to take online courses).
Republicans have proposed returning $39 million in broadband stimulus money after already returning $23 million of funds intended to help Wisconsin schools and libraries.
Republicans propose nothing but damage to the K-12 education system and to higher education.

Oh, well...a "prediction" from a Progressive. Well that's impressive...:doubt:

So you've got NOTHING to back up your statement "How much more will Wisconsin's schools suck". Nothing, just more lies. How fucking pathetic.

Then I suggest that all liberals in Wis move to Ill or Mich.

But the reality is that people are leaving the failed blue states in droves and moving to the successful red states. Cal and NY had more people move out than in last year---therefore now there are fewer people to carry the libtardian burden in those states, can you say "bankrupt" ?

You afraid of reading opinion pieces?

You said you have not looked into it. You claimed it was impressive without looking into it. I wonder why you would do something like that?

Walker is making the same mistake Bush made in 2001,

cutting taxes instead of paying down long term debt.

Uhh, and obama has paid down our long term debt ???????????????

10 trillion when he took office, 17 trillion today, 21 trillion when he leaves. Wow, what a great record :cuckoo:

Well, I did, but you are too stupid to understand it.

Here's another one..

Case Closed: Scott Walker's Budget Destroying Public Education

MADISON-Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following the release of a definitive report by the Department of Public Instruction that shows massive cuts by Scott Walker are destroying public education.

"Scott Walker's rhetoric met reality today, with a report that is as sad as it is shocking for the future of our public schools. Contrary to months of propaganda supported by corporate front groups, Wisconsin's schools are suffering at the direct hands of Walker's immoral budget. When seven of 10 students attend a district with fewer teachers and nine out of 10 students saw a cut in staff, when 40 percent of our schools have larger class sizes and when more than 60 percent of our school districts say they see more drastic cuts coming, Scott Walker should be ashamed to claim that his assault on public education is working.

According to the data, even one of the anecdotes that Scott Walker trots out most regularly, the Kaukauna School District, is a sham, with that school at the top of the list in losing teachers and increasing student-to-teacher ratio.

The propaganda machine for Scott Walker is well-funded - as we see with his shameless fundraising trip to Arizona, Kansas and California in the next week that begins today. The corporate front groups that have infested our state have tried mightily to fool, confuse and lie to the Wisconsin public. Today's report is a damning rebuke to any of those who yet believed Walker's hollow empty rhetoric that cutting education in Wisconsin by $2.6 billion, to fund tax cuts for the very rich, would help our schools.
