Will Trump Chicken Out?

First of all despite what the radical left Trump doesn't always chicken out. In fact if he did this time this would be about the first that I can remember. Now, I really do hope and pray that this is fake news, but it worried me when I saw that Trump supposedly said that he doesn't think that America has the stomach to take Kharg.

Look:
  1. Trump has never "chickened out" on anything in his life.
  2. If we want to take Kharg Island, we can. It would involve a few days of sustained heavy bombing followed by a massive ground campaign involving significant casualties.
  3. Iran can either sign a settlement with US and stick with it that absolves them of all nuclear aspirations and military entanglements in the Strait and flow of oil, or they will be subject to massive military operations far worse than anything they've seen yet, and we TAKE the facilities and impose our will brutally.
Their call.

The U.S. Department of Defense estimates that approximately $7.1 billion in U.S.-funded defense equipment remained in Afghanistan following the 2021 withdrawal. This arsenal, largely consisting of gear provided to the former Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), includes: [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Aircraft: Over $923 million worth, including nearly 80 aircraft left at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. Most were demilitarized and rendered inoperable before departure.
  • Vehicles: $4.13 billion in military vehicles, including over 40,000 trucks and 12,000 Humvees.
  • Weapons and Munitions: Roughly 350,000 rifles, over 180,000 air-to-ground missiles, and extensive communications
Bin Biden left all that for the Talban.

The DEMS ARE A FCKING JOKE

I understand the Generals argued against leaving that stuff vociferously, but Biden would hear nothing of it. In other words, Joe wanted to gift the Taliban with everything possible he could.

We don't need to take Kharg island. The blockade is working just fine.
If Trump signs a bad peace deal, one that "negotiates for another 60 days about their nuclear program", that would be a major TACO. Iran would have outlasted Trump, pathetic. We have Iran on the ropes, the world economy is fine, we are getting oil thru Hormuz, there is no need to surrender to Iran.

You can't possibly be that delusional.

He chickens out all the time. Remember "Liberation Day"? That TACO (unlike most of the other 280 TACOs since then) was actually a Whopper. World leaders couldn't keep a straight face watching the blob ooze off in another direction.

The blob will never launch any massive military operation dude. Pull your head out of your ass.

Iran has Trump by the balls and will endure whatever attacks he launches.
you got that backwards RW'er
  1. It could be a bluff, meant just to misdirect and confuse Iranian forces.
  2. Because he is going to take it and there isn't a damned thing Iran can do to stop it.
2..... ;)
Do you want to kill them all let God sort them out??
someone should sent Allah the memo......🇺🇸
How can you negotiate with people who will NEVER negotiate?
performance based

Yes. And taking Kharg Island would entail massive destruction of the facility that would hamper our recovering oil from Iran's economy to both pay us off and keep the total flow of oil back to normal, not to say that Kharg isn't still a legitimate military target.

If Trump signs a bad peace deal,
If history is any teacher, I think it highly unlikely that Trump signs a bad peace deal, if anything, Iran will be lucky to get one at all fair and not one-sided. More likely, Trump signs nothing and just keeps up the blockade and pounding if Iran starts skating sideways again.

Just saw on CNN one guy said we are returning to the exact same point before the war started.
1. We are negotiating with Iran over nuclear weapons
2. Hormuz is open

BUT, Iran wins because:
3. We will pay Iran something for their enriched uranium, big loss to US taxpayers, if it happens.
4. The US military withdraws to back home and the blockade on Iran is lifted giving Iran oil revenue.
5. Any future negotiations are pointless because Iran can just give Trump the finger, their "news" shows are saying Iran won.

Our best hope is that Israel in Lebanon causes Iran to walk away, keeping Hormuz closed both ways, with the US side getting some oil thru.

Meaningless. CNN, really?

3. We will pay Iran something for their enriched uranium, big loss to US taxpayers, if it happens.
No big deal. So what if we pay them for the uranium, it has value to us, we can use it, and the important point is to take it off of them that they don't keep it. I have a feeling we will also be tapping Iran to recover the cost of this military action.

4. The US military withdraws to back home and the blockade on Iran is lifted giving Iran oil revenue.
Our military is going nowhere not for a long while at least not until Iran is in total, full compliance and there is a sustained return to normalcy in the region. Even at that, we have bases all over the area and will be watching things very closely.

5. Any future negotiations are pointless
If Iran thinks it can game us, we will only be back far harder and uncompromising next time.

their "news" shows are saying Iran won.
Of course! They always will. Who gives a rats ass what propaganda they spread to their own people. Bottom line: the only way this will work is if:
  1. Iran totally respects the international waterway of the Strait.
  2. Iran gives up all uranium and efforts to enrich it.
After that, anything else is a "nice to have."

I watch several "news" sources, and then try to figure out where the "truth" lies.

They said we'd have to destroy it there in Iran.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what Iran meant with that point.
If Iran thinks it can game us, we will only be back far harder and uncompromising next time.
Why not finish it now? Trump needs to hang tough. Israel is helping by pissing Iran off in Lebanon.

I keep waiting for the US blockade to work.
If Trump gives them any money he's a wimp.
We need to get more ships thru Hormuz to break Iran's blockade
Gas prices are coming down, no need to rush a peace deal.

That is the only way.

I know Iran doesn't want us having it, they are more conducive to giving it to a 3rd party to destroy. Probably sell it back to them. Hard to say what final resolution but either way, Iran doesn't keep it.

I agree. But apparently Trump is under heavy pressure to knock off the "yee-haa cowboy diplomacy" and adhere to the same constrained negotiatory policies that have failed everyone else for 47 years.

I keep waiting for the US blockade to work.
Iran might hold out to that for months.

If Trump gives them any money he's a wimp.
If Trump sends them a pallet of stacks of $100 bills, he is dead meat to me. Still the best choice in 2024, but I'll be severely disappointed. If anything, Iran owes the world about a trillion dollars.

If history is any teacher, countries like Iran, Afghanistan and Vietnam can withstand lengthy depravation and will wait out western invaders who can’t take the political pressure of a lengthy conflict

The fact that few details have been released seems to support Trump did not get much of a deal

That was true a year ago, but Iran can dig out the enriched uranium unless its removed.

Anyone can get a better deal than Obama.
He gave Iran $56,000,000,000 for only a 10 year delay, which they used to enrich uranium.
We need to wait and see what Trump's final deal looks like.
maga-being-hypocrites-once-again-v0-w5abamkpbm7h1.jpeg

it was $56 billion of their own assets released.

You're so full of it. Khrag is dangerous and they should be wiped out. The ones in charge of their regime anyways.
How Christian of you to say that. :auiqs.jpg:
We`re not dangerous after killing untold thousands in Iraq and Vietnam? After 23 years of searching, we still haven`t found the mythical WMDs and we VOTED for our war criminal regimes.

So then why did we get involved in the first place if that's the case? Trump should stick with his plan and get them. It's LONNNNNGGGG overdue.

Trump plays poker. Bluffing is an important tool of poker.

It depends on how you define what a deal is. As I said in another post, I don't think a deal is a deal if you are still negotiating more. I say a deal is when we aren't negotiating anymore.

Me too. That's why Trump is starting to drive me crazy. I can't trust anything he says anymore. 🙄
