Not really. They did up until after the 1990s. Now not so much. I will give you, the Democrats were not really known for policing their own, much in my memory, period. If they had, we would not have lost 58,000 troops in Vietnam and another 303,000 wounded. Bill Clinton (though actually good for the country, overall) would have been kicked out of the White House for having Monica give him blowjobs in the Oval Office cloakroom. Now in the age of ignoring constitution, constitutional and historic norms, stupidly, uselessly appropriating/ spending tax dollars and increasing debt limit beyond what will be spent in the next 4 years, Republicans cannot be counted on to control their own worst instincts and only attack Democrats for being Democrats, not for simply bad policy. Not reigning in their own, no longer trusted to reign in the Dems, either. The two major parties in this country truly suck, and the best one can hope for or vote for at any given time, to vote for the least damaging candidate of the moment.

Plenty of male golfers use the ladies bathroom on golf courses at the turn occasionally because someone is using the mens room and everyone is trying to tee off quickly and there are rarely women golfing. No one dies. People have managed to use bathrooms for 250 years without issues and their are no issues today. Harassment isnt legal in any form.

There is really no difference to lecture about. It's the sme principle. The racists need to understand these things. Rachel Maddow is a woman. And both parties are not the problem. Republicans have exaggerated things done by Democrats, while they have really veered to the extreme right. Look at what they're doing. This is being done while we are watching the right roll ack civil rights, advocate for Confederate symbols, snatch people off the streets and put them in jail for writing editorials, pressure the media, colleges, and other educational systems to bend to the will of TRUMP, attempt to bully the court, have advocated for the police to use maximum force wherever they feel like it, and put millitary troops on the streets of this nation for no real reason.

We have a president doing extreme things, claiming emergencies exist that don't, which means he will possibly try using emergency powers during elections. So when people start talking about both parties, maybe we need to look seriously at what both parties are actually doing.

The both parties are bad narrative is really inaccurate. Republicans say this to cover fr their fascism. Most Americans have always been independent. Republicans are obsessing over trans people, but trans people make up a very tiny portion of the population. They talk about it being deviant behavior, yet so is racism, and there are far more racists than trans people. The racists demand freedom to be racists, but don't understand that in a free country, people also have the freedom to be trans, no matter how strange that behavior may be.

So then the Republican concept of freedom is that you must be a certain type of person and behave in a way they decide, and that is not freedom.
