Will Sipan Hamo represent the Kurdish people at the congress in Sochi?!

Today the forthcoming National Dialogue Congress is being discussed everywhere in Syria.

Indeed, Abu Kamal, the last settlement occupied by ISIS terrorists is liberated. The insignificant concentration of bandits from the Jabhat al-Nusra and other formations has long been a serious threat to state security – their elimination is only a matter of time.

At the time against the background of the fight against the common evil – ISIS – representatives of different nations were united in Syria. Kurdish detachments of people's self-defense liberated their land in the northern and eastern parts of the country, the troops of Bashar Assad victoriously passed along the central and southern areas of the Arab Republic,.

However, after the victory over terrorism, the citizens of the Arab Republic will have many questions: how to live on, what will happen to the Syrian statehood, whether the Baath party will concede to national minorities, will the intruders of American and Turkish military leave the country on the banks of the Euphrates?

The entire multinational Syrian people will have to answer these and many other questions in the very near future at the National Dialogue Congress. The event itself will take place outside the Arab Republic and will be held in the Russian city of Sochi, however, according to the information we have, almost all parties to the conflict will be represented there, as well as the leaders of the numerous tribes living in Syria.

Undoubtedly, the key issue at this event, on which the entire further course of the negotiation process will depend, will be a dialogue between the leaders of Kurds and the official Damascus.

Apparently, this long and difficult process of negotiations began quite a long time ago in the information space and in the framework of personal meetings.

Information on personal meetings of the leader of the People's Self-Defense Forces (YPG) Sipan Hamo with the Syrian generals repeatedly appeared in the media and social networks. Topics of their conversations have traditionally not been covered, however, it is worth assuming that they communicated not only on the liberation of the province of Deir ez-Zor.

Also, we should not discount the recent speech by President Bashar Assad, who said he was ready for changes in the Constitution, and early parliamentary elections, if the process of national reconciliation required it.

The impossibility to ignore the ‘voice of the Kurdish people’ this summer was emphasized by the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

"Kurds are an important, relevant community. And we are talking about Syrian Kurds. They will have to speak, participate in the creation of a new constitution or change the current one", de Mistura said in an interview with the Russian media RIA Novosti.

This information was leaked completely by accident. Your humble servant was given the honor of attending the meeting of the organizers of the congress with the staff of the Department of Waqf and Islamic Affairs of the province of Aleppo. In the process of discussing current issues, the name of the leader of the YPG appeared in a list of those who at the moment agreed to participate in the Congress of the Syrian National Dialogue!

The importance of Sipan Hamo's personality and his authority among the Kurdish people cannot be overemphasized. The mere fact that no one appoints commanders of the People's Self-Defense Units from above, but is elected by direct vote, already speaks volumes.

Well, this is undoubtedly a positive news, which not only gives a certain significance to the upcoming congress, but also gives hope that the process of peaceful settlement in Syria is really launched. At the same time, the dialogue of all participants of the multi-year conflict will be built exclusively on mutually beneficial terms.
