Will libs fight to pull the plug on this girl

Jahai is not on life support. There is no life to support. The hospital issued a death certificate today.

Why would anyone disregard the wishes of her parents? With schiavo, her husband was involved with another woman for years, he should have lost his ability to control her destiny yet libs fought to kill her. You can pretend that they didn't if you want to

Because her parents are costing the hospital millions of dollars to keep a DEAD corpse on life support.

LOL. Our wonderful 'Conservatives'. One moment it's 'let him die', the next it's 'use any means to keep the body functioning, no matter what the condition of the brain'. Could it be that this has nothing to do with morality and everything to do with politics?

No it has to do with death. The girl died several weeks ago. There is no condition of the brain. There is no comparison to Terri Schiavo because her brain was functioning enough to keep her breathing, her heart beating and her auto anatomical functions going. Jahai McMath is dead. She's as dead as if they dug her up out of the grave, hooked her up and then said "See her heart is now beating, she's breathing".

There is nothing moral or immoral about hoping this dead girl will wake up. It's pitiful. It has nothing to do with politics. There is nothing political about a grieving parent insisting that her child isn't dead. It's pathetic.

that felt good to pos rep you.

let the parents keep the flesh alive.

if someone is willing to fit the bill there is no harm to it,

Terry Shiavo ASKED to never be kept in that state.

It was HER wishes

except all of these cases have one signature difference from the Oakland one.
They ALL were TRAUMATIC brain injuries not UNOXIC - all young men that recovered from their coma had never had cardiac arrest and cessation of the blood flow to their brain completely.

That is a huge difference.

In all those cases, the person was not brain dead but in a coma. The terms brain dead and coma are used so interchangeably that people assume they are synonymous. They aren't. A person in a coma will retain enough brain functioning to perform auto anatomical functions. The heart will still beat, the lungs will still breathe, the body will still process waste. When all activity in the brain and brain stem ceases, the person is brain dead and cannot be resurrected. They keep insisting that the girl is asleep. She will wake up. She won't.

Believe me, I know the difference. I also know that declaration of brain death is made only after the set of very strict tests, often including angiography ( it is a gold standard) which were not conducted, obviously, with all of the young men.
But all were in Oakland case and confirmed the brain death.
Those are all the newspaper articles.

Obviously, ignorant ones, medically wise. However, the words about organ donations were, most probably, spoken, as that is the mutual point in all articles.

The most worrisome one is the English one as it is the single payer system and parents or relatives do not have say much in such systems.

If organ donation is the goal, they will claim the person is dead as quickly as possible without any medical care at all. They just want those organs. They'd take them from someone who had a splinter in their finger if they thought they could get away with it.

Jahai's family hired their own doctor who examined the girl and pronounced her dead.

Being an unsympathetic and suspicious person without much compassion, I do note that the family is asking for donations. Jahai may just have become the cash cow for this family. When she's buried, the gravy train ends and they can keep the fund for themselves.

In the uk they force people to opt out of organ donation. They try less to save people there for the 'greater good '

Wrong on many levels.

organs can not be "left alone" and require a particular care to be considered for transplantation. There are many cases when the organs harvested are never transplanted as they are not in the condition needed.

as for "take them from anybody if they could get away with it" - it's an urban myth. An appealing for horror movie, but not real. yes, some teams are more harsh than the others.
Not saying that it can't happen, though.
With a single payer system and flourishing corruption,as a result - ANYTHING can happen.
The erosion of the transplant medicine by courts ( and therefore corrupting it) already started,

The confirmation of the brain death by test is NOT a green light on organ harvesting - the surviving family HAS to LEGALLY consent to it.
YET.

agreed with your last paragraph.
It does look like the family now is making money on the tragedy.
