They had 30 agents there for nine hours. When they took the passports, they did so to send a message. They could have photographed them and left them. They took them deliberately.

All of the FBI agents can recognize a passport, and Trump undoubtedly had them in a very personal space. That's why they took them.

As you know, they quickly returned them and admitted mistake. Therefore, your claim that they are evidence does not seem to be the case. The FBI noted that the passports were "items that we do not need to be retained for law enforcement purposes."
