One, only one or two states do drug screens for welfare. The others don't.

Two, looking for work and working are two different things. Anybody that goes to a job interview with dirty cloths on and messed up hair won't be offered a job so that's a moot point.

Currently, that district (6th SC) is #33 out of all districts nationwide. When broken down within the state, the 6th gets 3x as much as the closest red district. Since all district, because of Wesbury v. Sanders (1964), are roughly the same population, it's already proportional.

If you read for detail, I did. I referenced the district by number and state.

If you look at numbers on a national level, it doesn't tell what is happening within a state you say is a red welfare state but is so because the blue areas within that state take so much it makes the rest of the state look bad and presents something that doesn't fit with your agenda.

To make that general claim that it's purely red and blue on a state level, you have to take into account what's happening within the state itself not just on the surface.

The problem is that there are blue cities in red states. The cities are where the most population is.

In my state of Ohio, we are pretty red although we are a swing state. However our cities are blue such as Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Toledo, Cincinnati and Dayton.

We are the richest country in the world. Does that mean every city and state are rich?

And yet I know people who do exactly that. They spend as much time figuring out every possible government program they can use, as I spend time working at my job.

In most states there's no need to figure out anything. If you go to a DHS office, they will determine eligibility for various services. However, don't expect much if you are working. My son works, has 4 kids, and the wife doesn't work. The family qualified for food stamps but they receive only $10/mo. Only the kids qualified for Medicaid.

Anybody can blow a job interview. It's the easiest thing in the world to do because you can apply for any job be it a floor sweeper, an engineer, an airplane pilot because all they want are names of companies you applied at. We used to do it all the time while on unemployment when we were younger.

Yes, there are all kinds of jobs out there, particularly in my industry. Need some proof, go right ahead and ask or go to Craigslist to their help wanted section and click the link Transportation. There you will find dozens of new jobs posted every single day.
