Why We Don't Have Universal Health Care.

You know, like all the other developed nations (among others) have. The reason is because of the Insurance industry and the money they can get politicians to take. I say we hang the insurance industry out to dry.

Can't do it. We are capitalists. It would hurt the bottom line of for profit healthcare.

Instead of squandering hundreds of billions of dollars on Ukraine and trillions of dollars on wasted garbage, our useless politicians could have given us a cheap, socialized healthcare plan; alongside with the standard healthcare we have in America. (The rich don't want socialized healthcare and the average person can't afford the system we have...so we need 2 systems.) People that can't afford America's unaffordable healthcare could get their appendix out before it bursts.

If they need a heart transplant, then go work 3 jobs and save up for 6 years to pay for it. The socialized plan would be for basics to keep it viable. But the American healthcare system is so greedy they don't want to lose a penny and would never accept a 2nd option. Plus, our politicians are absolute nincompoops and could never run a socialized healthcare system anyway.

Do you think the turtle will get your socialized healthcare?

turtle be honest.webp

The whole of US politics is run by the rich, for the rich. "We the people...." is nonsense, the people don't really get a say.

for one countries like sweden have a fraction of our population
have you seen how high their tax burden is to "pay" for this? some 40%

it's not FREE, nothing is

Imagine you are healthy and never use it whereas your neighbor is a heavy drinker and smoker
and constantly in the clinic, you are paying extra for their life choices.

Israel does and the USA gives money to Israel. Before the AIPAC shills say I am lying, let me show you how Israel health care is funded. Now you prove to me that USA tax dollars are not used for the "government" contributions.

Israel's healthcare system is primarily funded through a combination of public and private sources, with a strong emphasis on universal coverage. The system is based on the National Health Insurance Law, which mandates that all residents are covered by one of four non-profit health plans. Funding is derived from income tax, a health tax, and government contributions.

Because I don't want to rely on shitty politicians for my health care. And I don't want my health care to be at risk every election.

Because I don’t feel like paying for fat lazy people who cause most of their own health conditions

FACT = We've had universal healthcare ever since Reagan was president.
haha.......what? you have the choice of various carriers, different prices depending on how much coverage you want/ deductible
that is not universal at all
we have choices, it's not one size fits all

Universal health care is not the same thing as universal insurance.

Corrupt Democrats always dishonestly conflate health care with insurance.

We have had universal health care since Reagan was in office.

We don't have national health care because too many Americans think it will, wrongly, cost moe, and two that it is a commie plot.

Too many Americans are dumb asses.

Good luck, the Democrats and Republicans gets lots of money from insurance companies. It would be political suicide.

This is unbelievable. Nobody here knows that there is a major CONSTITUTIONAL obstacle to socialized medicine? Congress has no Article I power to get into the healthcare business.

It could possibly be gotten around like SS and Medicare were, but it would involve a whole new PAYROLL TAX, for which Americans have no appetite.

Plus, having seen how the USPS, the VA and AMTRAK operate, "we" are hesitant to turn over our health to the Federal ******* Government.

The fact is that most Americans are quite satisfied with their healthcare and the cost of it. It is easy to say, "Millions of Americans have healthcare that sucks!" But one percent of the U.S. population is "millions." Most of us have excellent healthcare. Like me. I have Medicare and a Supplement and pay almost nothing out of pocket for my army of doctors.

The people in America don't want socialized medicine. They prefer to see doctors of their own choice and not to be subject to financial assrapery
I have quality private health insurance, but I can't see a doctor. I get interns and 'physician's assistants' who don't know what they're doing.

Apples and oranges.
They can't afford the illnesses that we can, even with their huge trade surpluses. They are also smarter than we are.
