Your question illustrates the problem. Believing in something is a religious concept.

Beat me to it. I responded to Matty's OP

Read AR5 and tell us it isn't science.
Read AR5 and tell us it isn't science.
I read it, you didn't
You never explained their "Excess heat" concept and how they arrived at the conclusion that the oceans were retaining 93% of it
Climate "Science" 101: Excess Heat
The IPCC (redistribute wealth by Climate change) alleges that the oceans are "absorbing" 93% of "excess heat"
"Ocean warming dominates the global energy change inventory. Warming of the ocean accounts for about 93% of the increase in the Earth’s energy inventory between 1971 and 2010 (high confidence), with warming of the upper (0 to 700 m) ocean accounting for about 64% of the total.
It is likely that the ocean warmed between 700 and 2000 m from 1957 to 2009, based on 5-year averages. It is likely that the ocean warmed from 3000 m to the bottom from 1992 to 2005, while no significant trends in global average temperature were observed between 2000 and 3000 m depth during this period. Warming below 3000 m is largest in the Southern Ocean {3.2.4, 3.5.1, Figures 3.2b and 3.3, FAQ 3.1} ...
It is virtually certain that upper ocean (0 to 700 m) heat content increased during the relatively well-sampled 40-year period from 1971 to 2010."

Topic for discussion:
- What is Excess Heat?
- Where was this excess heat hiding before being absorbed by the oceans
- Describe the mechanism by which the ocean absorbs excess heat. The IPCC (redistribute wealth by Climate change) alleges that this process occurs from the surface all the dow to the bottom of the Laurentian Abyss
Is that your best argument? Do you, oh master of all science & IQ 158, believe that refutes AGW?

Okay Frank, put on your thinking cap and listen up.
1) "Excess heat", as I and others have repeatedly told you, is no specific entitiy in the AGW process. It means nothing more than heat energy that is in excess of some level specified by some context. For instance, if you are making soup on the stove and the pot boils over, you have applied excess heat. If you are adjusting the temperature of your shower and you scald yourself, you have applied excess heat. If the world is at thermal equilibrium and some factor changes moving it away from there, warming could be said to be caused by excess heat. Whatever the fuck significance you think it has, it does not.
2) Nothing was hiding. The oceans have absorbed the vast majority of incoming heat energy since they came into existence. This is due to nothing more than the differences between the specific heat capacities of air and water. This is why they use water, vice air, to put out fires Frank.
3) Heat energy is transferred into the oceans by radiation, conduction and convection. The first is the transfer of heat via photons, the second, conduction, is the transfer of energy via the direct contact of molecules, the third is simply the second enhanced by fluid flow. Examples:
Radiation: the heat you feel on your face sitting in front of a roaring fire
Conduction: the transfer of heat from your stove's electric burner to the pot you've placed on top
Convection: drying your hair with your wife's Conair 10,000 Super Blower Hair Dryer
already told you in a different set of threads it wasn't. Post something from it that is based on science.Read AR5 and tell us it isn't science.
