Why is Trump publicly calling out Canada, Mexico, Greenland and Panama Canal? Didnt he campaign on confronting China? Come on Trump

It’s a simple answer to anyone that paid attention to the news

China has been allowed to build major ports on both ends of the canal. They have been able to defacto run the canal.

This is in violation of the Carter treaty with panana requiring neutrality
That's not the cause of Panama's problems. All the Chinese ports did (which are in addition to the 3-4 other ports already there) was add capacity.

Panamá has five seaport areas: Panama City, Manzanillo, Balboa, Colón, and Cristóbal. These seaports handle the 16000 and the 17000 million dollars in exports and imports, respectively, which is the annual value of the foreign trade of Panama.

Hutchison has 2 main ports in Panama making them the largest port provider in Panama.

Imagine it comes to a real scuffle in Panama all that would be shut down. And then what?

When did he promise to return food prices to pre xiden/harris levels?

Everything else, well he isn’t in office yet, he did it all before.

Trump promises to make prices plunge again.

Americans crave pre-Covid prices. Former President Donald Trump is promising to make them a reality.

“Prices will come down,” Trump told voters during a speech last week laying out his vision for a return to the White House. “You just watch: They’ll come down, and they’ll come down fast, not only with insurance, with everything.”

As I said, China ports are in addition to the one's already there.
China could go on strike, and it would mean nothing.

Trump was voted in by Americans and even supported by many fiscally minded citizens around the globe because he represented more fiscal restraint/cost cutting a la DOGE, he was going to prevent Americas debt from going off of the cliff, return a global presence of peace through strength to defend key allies such as Taiwan and Japan, defend your border (for which Canada also pays a price as we have fentanyl coming into our country from these same cartels I'm sure) and confronting China so that America remains the Super Power of the world, millions of lives potentially saved.

Now, Mexico I can understand being called out, even the Canal and Greenland as these are key tenets of U.S security. Canada though is receiving more than our fair share of ink due to Trump. Media cares this much about Canada all of a sudden but not 100s of thousands being poisoned by your southern border? Come on maaaan.

If his actions before he takes office is any indication, he has said very little about China and tariffs, but raises the issue with Canada and Mexico and others? Didn't he suggest a 60% tariff on China? They are sending over the precursors to the poisons that have killed countless people in Canada too, that act is responsible for something like 100,000 U.S deaths a year!

Let's hope this isn't a pattern he will maintain after he takes office. Please DJT, stick to your promises. China needs to be confronted about their human right abuses and cheating on trade. All nations can do better but China is by the greatest threat to America and the biggest trade violator.

We'd all like to see peace in the world and we'd all love to see China become a true capitalist nations that supports human rights. This should be where his focus lies, no? To call them out and get them to change and if they do not, than he uses tariffs as a means to equalize the trade abuses.

DJT keep your promises. Canada isn't perfect and we could use some demands to adhere to human rights but we are your ally, for all of our warts.
I see you know nothing about the Panama Canal. perhaps investigate the reasons before posting!

If so, then why hasn't the richest country on planet earth, the USA - build/financed those investments??
Um we built the canal.

Geez you dembots are stupid

Yes he’s promised prices, will come down…but didn’t promise pre harris and xiden levels.

Just since he became the nominee inflation has drastically come down

The world does not end withing our borders. And Progs do not understand it. What happens to us means nothing at this point.

I don’t live in the USA and neither do you.

and again you’re lying. Republucans say it’s your country and outsiders know nothing. They refuse to look outside the US because the rest of the world doesn’t matter.
A unicorn? No. Only for the fact that I found out the details and shared them with America. There are countless people like me in Canada, there is a reason we lose our best and brightest.

One thing is for certain, if I am a unicorn, your type, are on the contrary, "in abundance" in Ontario...

More of your blather and bullshit. Yes there are many if not dozen of people like you. We see them standing on the overpasses on Sunday holding up antivax sign and complaining about their lack of “FreeDumb”.

None of them have ever been harassed by CSIS either.
You sure?

Well - he had numerous "talks" with economic leaders and financial power-people - the one with the CEO from Tik Tok - most likely offered him an entirely new and personal $$$ outlook.

The owner of TikTok invested millions in Trump’s media company.

Trump media is the perfect bribery vehicle. They’re not bribing Trump. They’re investing in a company with no assets which losing millions because it’s a good idea. No reporting of “Donations” required.

Then you tell us about the Panama Canal.

You're " a man a plan" so explain the canal in panama

The issue is the ports at the canal, which we built and subject to the treaty

You really are clueless

After Trump posted the remarks, Mulino denied allegations of Chinese control over the canal. "China does not control or administer the canal. When it comes to our canal, and our sovereignty, we will all unite under our Panamanian flag."

While a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings manages two ports at the canal's entrances, with Chinese firms funding construction of a new bridge over the canal to the tune of over $1 billion, this does not equate to control of the canal's operations. The Panama Canal Authority, an autonomous government agency, oversees the canal's administration.
