Why Is Trump, Pelosi and Mitch Against $1200 Stimulus Checks??

$18 is pathetic though. Cannot eek out a living on that. Herein lies the problem. That is poverty wages now.
exactly. It is pathetic. Enjoy your 7 year car loans, 30 year mortgages, and a lifetime of household debt exceeding 3 times your annual income. Maybe you will have a medical bankruptcy or two scattered in there.
This the American way. I owe I owe so off to work I go.

It is? That's funny! That is how much my wife and I make at our respective jobs.
that would put your gross household income at only $75,000. By all indications, this would mean you have very high household debt and insufficient savings to deal with expensive emergencies, putting you more at risk of bankruptcy and foreclosure than the average american household. This risk looks different among age groups. For example, older people have had more time to build equity and savings. however, a household of 28-year olds making this money are at very high risk of the things I mentioned.

$18 per hour in today's america isn't all that much. Paycheck to paycheck is the standard today. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Goes with the system.

A one time $1200 stimulus check won't do much for people. They need to increase the unemployment benefits again to people who have been put out of work
and who the fuck is supposed to pay for that unemployment benefits? The taxpayer is currently out of work, because your progressive masters have deemed that you are worthy to have a business so must suffer them and their will over you, while we down here in Floor E. Da are open for business and our unemployment is 4%. Must suck to be you prog slaves....

There needs to be better balance of opening up/expanding the economy under the pandemic. Trump was committed to that. President Joe is ALL about the mask.

You need to get out of that liberal trash bin you're in and go to other parts of the country. $18.00 is manageable in many other places.
If you want to be surrounded by hillbillies and people like you.
If you are from Indiana, then you apparently hate yourself.... just sayin. Across Indiana that income, along with a spouses income is a manageable amount. If a person wants more than that, they will have to apply themselves and work to do better. $18/hr is a great start for anyone and even afford a decent living if that person doesn't want to work harder to make more.

Yet, the right wing believes in no minimum wages at all, just like in the good olde days.

Wages have nothing to do with left vs. right. None.
It has everything to do with supply and demand, and modern corporatism strongly supported by both party leaders. Equally.
America has a ravenous appetite for low prices. And could care less how they get it.
There is something ironic and moronic about a people who bitch about low wages on their way to Walmart to buy more cheap shit.
Americans are brain dead in that way. Never considering for 2 seconds how they contribute to the very problems they lament.

Right wingers would prefer no statutory minimum wages. We already know capitalism doesn't work or wages for the Labor as the least wealthy would not have stagnated while wages for the richest, virtually skyrocketed.

Even with Capitalism's natural rate of unemployment? How would that work even if Labor were required to obtain a doctorate before providing labor input to our economy?

Get a job, Biff. If you are in such sorry need for ANOTHER 1200 dollar government hand out..I hope you spend most of your day looking for employment.

Most people put out by the scamdemic were living a haphazard life before Covid 19.

It would not have mattered what happened to upset their already tenous lifestyle...It could have been a car wreck, or a fall down some steps.. people who don't save, don't plan ahead, and don't work hard to secure their future should not be constantly bailed out by our government.

Taking personal responsibility for one's actions have consequences sometimes..

Quickest solution to help the majority of those struggling financially is to open everything back up.. then let them start working, or finding work again.

You are thinking too simplistic.
Everything you just said is by design. And, again, BOTH sides are equal players.
It is an investors economy. It is not an economy that rewards production, manufacturing etc.
Those two things are looked upon as evil necessity. Something to get as low as possible.
Think of the show Shark Tank. Every investor except for one are liberals. Mark Cuban... LOOOVED by the left makes the vast majority of his income off of investing in products mass produced in China. And exactly why he refuses to talk bad about China.
A liberal hero... and yet he is one of the most prolific slave labor capitalist in America.
Irony.

Not always. If you are unhappy with your pay, and nobody else will pay you more, it means that's all your labor is worth. It's not up to industry to artificially make a persons labor worth more, it's up to the individual to make their labor worth more.

How is our worth determined? Our job is only worth as much as an employer can find another person to do the same quality of work for the same money. I don't care how many years you spent in college, how many years you spent in trade school, if there are ample people to do your job, then your skills are only worth what those others would be willing to take your job for.

No, they are not. Labor as the least wealthy in our economy are oppressed through unequal protection of the laws under our form of Capitalism, where those with the most Gold, make the most rules.
Then you are a simpleton. Only willing to believe what you want, and ignoring what you don't want to be true.
Unfortunately, that makes you a part of the problem. And those wealthy elitist you so hate... love you for it.

Our markets are more regulated than your simplified version suggests.

Whence any homeless problem if getting a job is so easy?

Homelessness is overwhelmingly self induced and/or mental illness.
You want to go back to forced institutionalization?
The vast majority of homeless are not employable for a variety of reasons. They do not fit into conventional economic policy or economic discussion, unless homelessness numbers are generally due to economic reasons. And in America, extremely few are homeless due to systemic economic issues.
