Why is Trump being silent about ATACMS

Biden has just escalated the war against Russia by approving long range use. As this could lead to a escalation and drag the US into a war with Russia, why is Trump - the anti war President - not making a public statement condemning Biden's move and making it clear he will reverse this and other decisions and stop support for Ukraine?

It's not like Trump let someone else own the narrative, yet right here, that's what he's doing. allowing Biden to won the narrative...the question is why? what signals does that send to Europe, Ukraine and Russia? to me it sends one signal - he's not actually concerned abut US war with Russia and has nothing to say about Biden's decision yesterday.
There could be many reasons why he has remained silent. I don't blame him. It's not wise to speculate, too many lives could be at risk.

Putin clearly will have to decide "do I want to accept the offramp in a reasonable manner or do I want to be greedy and have the worlds ire and effort to turn against me in an even sharper manner after more than two years of war"?

Trump won, he has a guy who has openly spoke of peace. Putin would be unwise to take kindness for weakness, especially as many in Europe are just hoping Trump decides to back Ukraine to the hilt and drags the rest of Europe with him.

You can be the smartest man in the world, the most cunning and ruthless negotiator, even a former spy, but you can't control everything. Those critical forces and details you cannot control may lead to your downfall if you underestimate how important they are.

How does Trump making a public statement condemning an action that puts the United States at risk, do any harm to anyone?

Biden gave Trump a chip vis-a-vie Putin.

I know that Trump has difficulty committing to specifics, he will commit to intangible claims but rarely to specific points. Like mass deportation, he commits to that but it has no real definition, cost, timescales etc.

Perhaps he's just a coward and doesn't want to actually commit to a de-escalation with Ukraine/Russia. He was a ***** with covid and masks and so on and I suspect he's a ***** with Russia, EU etc, makes a lot of noise and bluster but actually says very little specifically.

I know just as much as you know.

I'd respect him - I mean that - if he takes a vocal stand, holds a press conference and publicly denounces Biden's decision and makes it crystal clear the United States will not be supporting Ukraine against Russia starting Jan 20, be clear, precise and statesman like.

To not do that and at the same time claim top be opposed to America getting into wars speaks volumes to me.

Talk the talk but not walk the walk - anyway I'll be patient, perhaps he will say something soon...
Remember he is a president elect. He has no real power. You people expect to much. This mess is not on Trump.

What could he say that would benefit him or America?

He can be openly critical and make it appear he is protecting Russia from consequences.

He can agree to what occurred and ruin his ability to negotiate with Putin in two months time.

It wasn't his decision. Whether he likes it or he doesn't, he will have to deal with it in two months.

Probably suggested it

Who can stop him from holding a press conference and stating in no uncertain terms that he strongly disapproves of Biden's escalation and will be reversing it promptly on Jan 20? Is Trump shy? No, is Trump weak in front of the press? No.

That he cares that Biden has made this decision, that it grieves him that such an escalation has been made so close to him being inagurated and so on.

If I am him I just stay mum.

For all we know he was well aware of this before hand. Regardless, he is going to take office with the conditions of America and the world that he was left with.

For those who don't know anything about the real world (and many MAGATS here clearly do not), the world outside of the United States mainland, the United States has just struck the Russian mainland. The US has committed an act of war against the Russian federation.

That was NOT the case until less than 24 hours ago and is something I'd expect a President elect to vigorously condemn.

Russia has said that such an attack with ATACMS is an attack by the US, it is on record.

But he takes no steps to counter the Biden narrative, one wonders if behind closed door Trump's advisers are actually supporting Biden's decision, perhaps they aren't all that anti war after all...that's what silence suggests...perhaps we're about to see how ineffective Trump is at dealing with a real international crisis, like we never saw his flailing around with Covid.

Probably so as to not directly interfere with a sitting US President's foreign policy in so far as it's potential for national security.
No. Genocide Joe’s actions are unprecedented. A lame duck potus should not be escalating a war, as he exits. He’s doing this to tie Trump’s hands in an effort to continue this horrifying proxy war, to further enrich and empower the MIC.
