they are both living under horrific conditions of poverty. One under evil Marxist regime & the other under evil violent gangs. Which would YOU choose? Before Castro came to power, illegal immigration from Haitians and Jamaicans was a constant problem. Many black Cubans are descendants of those immigrants whom Castro later naturalized as Cubans. With the impoverishment that Castro&Moscow Bolshevism brought to Cuba, the problem disappeared.

We made it to the Dominican Republic a year or so ago for vacation. It was beautiful. We would love to go back sometime.

They outside world has visited ALL these types of places......told them EXACTLY what to do to make their lives better, cleaner, healthier, how to grow food, how to build homes with running water and toilets...........
