This thread, the entire premise of the thread from the OP is about why the United States is the best country in the world. That’s what the thread was created to discuss. It’s in the Clean Zone so it’s supposed to be a respectful conversation where we learn and discuss. Many seem to just want to bash the U.S. rather than discuss the topic. Nobody is turning to the USA to solve their problems, and they never have. The USA turned to NATO after 911. In fact, you're the ONLY NATO nation which has EVER asked for help.

And you're no longer the one anyone wants to trade with. You can thank Donald Trump, who keeps tearing up your trade agreements, and violating their terms, for why no one will write a trade deal with you. Trump doesn't abide by the terms.



You may not be aware but not everyone can get health insurance in the USA, because they can't afford it. Not only that, but the copays are ridiculous.

You haven't the vaguest clue how government funded health insurance works. There is no "two tiered system". EVERYONE waits for care except in the case of an emergency.

Private insurance simply covers the things government insurance doesn't cover. Things like semi-private hospital rooms, chiropractors, drugs and dental, which aren't always covered.

I recently suffered a heart attack and just got out of the hospital yesterday. I am a pensioner with no private health insurance, and no pull with anyone. I called my daughter to come home from work, and then called 911.

The EMT's were at my house in under 5 minutes. The 911 operator stayed on the line until they got there. They got me stabilized and took me to the hospital where a medical team was waiting to receive me. The emergency team worked quickly to send assess my condition, and then took me directly to surgery, where another team was waiting to receive me. The surgical team prepped me on the table

The heart attack started at 11:30. By 3:00 pm, I was in the cardiac ICU. Not only did I get the care I needed, there was no line, no waiting, and no difference in my treatment from when I had a Cadillac supplemental policy to now, except I had no semi-private room coverage.

I will never get a bill for any of this. The EMT's took my OHIP card, and gave the information to the hospital so I was already registered for admittance when I arrived, and the hospital had access to my medical records and information. There is no further paperwork required on my part. I just have to worry about getting better.

NATO is a group of nations that count on the United States to defend them if they are ever invaded. Look at the list of nations and what they provide to NATO. The United States and Turkey are the bulk of the military forces.

Hopefully, your recovery from your medical ails will go well. Retirees and even those still working in the U.S. have Medicare. It’s available to all at age 65.
