Why is changing your mind or positions seen as bad in politics? The ability to change your mind and be open to new ideas is a mark of intelligence.

It's a never ending theme in politics to get on people for the way they thought ten years ago, or when they suddenly change positions. As long as it's a genuine change made from experience this is a very good thing. Why would you want a leader that is too stubborn to change their positions on anything?

Well, Kamala changed her "mind" every 20 minutes.

Changing your mind can also be a sign of coercion or indecisiveness. If one day you say Russia is good and the next day you say Russia is bad .... it means nothing at all without motivated clarity. Now THAT's your problem in politics - lack of motivated and logical clarity.

Too many try to moderate when elections come and if they're able to gaslight enough voters to get reelected, they immediately revert to their old positions. That's exactly why most people are so skeptical. No one believed kneepads on her sudden conversions, hell she'd still be telling America how sharp xiden is if it would give her some future advantage.

Democrats have a habit of LYING to get elected...aka pretending to change their minds just before elections to get elected then changing their minds right back again after and stabbing voters in the back like the lowlife scum that they are. Hence of all Kamala's last minute flip flops.

I would give my opinion on this today, but it would probably be different tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind it so much when politicians change positions if it were actually a matter of seeing the error of their ways and admitted it being so. However, it's all too often flip flopping in the name of political expediency and vote buying.

I agree with your overall sentiment - if done "genuinely". Unfortunately - 99% of the time politicians do it - it is not genuine and done purely for political gain.

Yep. I understand why the Democrats claim Trump is Hitler. After all, Trump wears leather shoes and so did Hitler. How much more proof do we need?!

Seen bad by who? The other side that wants to condemn you? That same person who criticizes an opponent for one thing will give a pass to an ally for the same thing.

It isn't, so far as I can see. Breaking your promises is another thing entirely.

I think it's pretty clear that intelligence is seen as bad by the majority of people. You can see on here, people might want to appear to be intelligent, but they'll do it by shutting down dissent and trying to turn things to their advantage, rather than actually trying to make a decent argument and improve themselves.

You rather assume that Intelligence, in the full and rounded sense of the term, is something that attracts people to politics .

But broadly the complete opposite is true , imho.
Mostly average IQ people with average talents and no compensating attributes .
The Boring Bastards Brigade .

Though given the amounts of money that you could "wrongly" make these days it must be tempting for some .

Somebody like a Mr Trump springs to mind .

Shut up Adolf.
