And if his Second Offer is turned down? It's not like he plans to invade it. He wants to buy it.
Approving or vetoing a UN Security Council resolution condemning a take-over of Greenland? It's unclear what leverage Russia and China would have.
Approving or vetoing a UN Security Council resolution condemning a take-over of Greenland?I don't understand why you think the UN would have to approve anything.
He's a bull in a china shop... his ability to negotiate rests largely upon the force behind him ( economic and/or military )...He's an incredible negotiator, I am sure you know.
The Canadians themselves had given their own Liberals a spanking at the October polls... Trump's remarks merely accelerated Trudeau's nearly-inevitable downfall... that wasn't a "negotiation"... that was the Canadians waking up...As much as you try to belittle him, Trump demoted Trudeau to Governor just days ago, and you see now that the failed progressive is gone.
It's not ours.Instead of laughing at the Greenland idea, how about explaining in serious terms why it is a bad idea for the US to seek acquisition?
How does one "mock" with "support"? It's not ours. Their people don't want to be part of "us". That's sufficient in itself, yes?All I am seeing is unsupported mocking,
Oh, I do, indeed, think that the Orange Man is Bad, however, I want much of the so-called "Trump Agenda" to materialize, even if I didn't vote for him specifically. All the "Pros" in the world are immaterial if the Greenlanders don't want to join, yes?and I have the impression you have not seriously considered the pros and cons, you just immediately jump to Orange Man Bad.
I never called Denmark an enemy. But they're too weak to protect Greenland from the commie sharks. That's why we should buy it as the leading representative of the free world.Danemark’s the enemy now?….
If we can convince both Denmark and the Greenlanders to let Greenland join us, then fine... if not, we shouldn't force it.I never called Denmark an enemy. But they're too weak to protect Greenland from the commie sharks. That's why we should buy it as the leading representative of the free world.
Denmark has a great deal in NATO. Sucker America. If we can convince both Denmark and the Greenlanders to let Greenland join us, then fine... if not, we shouldn't force it.
We're not Russia.
People are forgetting that the ice in Greenland is over 1 mile thick, and counties like Saudi Arabia are willing to pay for shiploads of fresh water.
Someone asked why we should care about Greenland or that it is none of our business. No clue what you are talking about?
Greenland is very strategic in relationship to Russia, this is nothing new. We’ve offered to buy it before long before Trump.Someone asked why we should care about Greenland or that it is none of our business.
Denmark owns Greenland, China is making moves towards Greenland.
Trump says we should own Greenland.

Russia nor China will make a fuss at the UN or militarily if Trump takes Greenland?
So long as Russia gets Ukraine and China gets Taiwan?
Mister "The Art of the Deal", right?
I wonder what Trump will give-and-take about to get Iceland as well?
I mean... after all... it's right next door to the new 51st State...![]()
I am saying that Trump-the-Deal-Maker could "make a deal" to let Russia grab Ukraine unopposed and to let China grab Taiwan unopposed in return for the US grabbing Greenland unopposed. As to Congress, well... he'll probably say: "What... you want me to give it B-A-C-K ???"Lawless land grab aggression is not up for China and Russia to somehow ok for United States.
Trump is plenty ignorant of history but Congress will never go along with such backward, barbaric act.
Is it something to do with the tariffs? Or something completely different? Whatever it is Greenland doesn't seem all that interested anyways.

Because a subhuman coup plotting criminal lowlife who can't be trusted is proposing it. That's why.Admins have been discussing buying Greenland since the 1860s.
Why is everyone making such a big deal about it being brought up again?
Greenland is under threat by who? Did Trump name a foreign entity or is he just lying thru his ignorant scumbag mouth as usual? The US signed a defense treaty with Denmark and Trump claims that Denmark is not defending Greenland properly so he wants the US to take over.

and was it the same type person that proposed it the previous 4-5 times?Because a subhuman coup plotting criminal lowlife who can't be trusted is proposing it.

It is an absolutely great idea to buy Greenland, for a number of reasons. The most important one is it's strategic position close to the arctic (which Russia has been trying to own) and somewhat close to Russia. We already had a network of military tunnels underground, many used for nuclear weapons. It also has massive scientific value, especially since the ice has been melting. There is also probably large stores of oil in the area.
