What is it with republicans and lying? They get caught so often you gotta wonder what they are thinking when they do it again.

"oh, they'll never catch me this time even though they did the last 759 times.

So, by now most people have read or heard about how Mike Johnson, in his remarks after barely eking out a victory to continue his tenure as Speaker of the House in the 119th Congress, attributed a very Christian prayer, in Jesus’ name, to Thomas Jefferson.

A whole bunch of news outlets have reported that this prayer was never uttered by Jefferson, citing a page on the Monticello website that says it has “no evidence that this prayer was written or delivered by Thomas Jefferson.”

He now not only claims that Jefferson wrote and delivered this prayer, but that he said it every day form then on.

Jefferson created his own New Testament by cutting out passages from two Bibles, removing any references to the supernatural such a Jesus rising from the dead.

Rs lie 'cause they want to be elected. If MAGAts knew what they really want to do, they wouldn't vote.

The Monticello website is a source? Who runs the Monticello website and what are their biases. Do they hate god? Are the true to Jefferson or revisionist. What do they keep, what do the throw away

Seems unlikely? That is what they state about Jefferson's prayer. Seems unlikely would not hold up in court as a defense, in this case we can say it is Jefferson's prayer, lacking any evidence that it is not his prayer.

Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Jefferson would have composed or delivered a public prayer of this sort

You and all democrats were denied the right to vote for Kamala in a democrat primary election. You are barking up the wrong tree on voting.

Democrats just demonstrated they will deny the right to vote. Nobody voted for Kamala Harris in a presidential primary.

You're a filthy liar.
Maybe not, but you're repeating the rhetoric of filthy liars.
You most certainly are doing that. Liars with a Commie God-denying axe to grind.

This is a lie? Johnson chooses to accept a commonly held belief for which there are other possible explanations. That's not a lie.

Just for fun, I'll mention a lie that is peddled by the mob that actually runs Monticello these days: Thomas Jefferson fathered a couple of slave children who have living descendants, and are therefore direct descendants of TJ. PROVEN, they say! But that is not true. It is PROVEN that these lovely folks were sired by A JEFFERSON, the individual cannot be determined genetically.

Details, details.

You too, Crepitus? The petty desperation of the left these days is about as pathetic as it gets.

Oh, Crappy's a shill.
Paid by character and OP.
Geez, Duke...if he's getting paid for doing this you'd think he could come up with something better than this! I mean...come on...that's pathetic! :)
