A transwoman most likely is different in some way before fully transitioning and is most certainly different than a male in terms of hormones and other characteristics. The transwoman does not necessarily have and advantage over other women

Look, an active woman may be stronger than a flabby guy who’s a couch potato. So, yes, there are *some* women who are stronger or faster than *some* men.

But we’re talking about athletes.

I don’t know much about swimming, but I know a lot about weight lifting. In every real gym in America you’ll find a dozen guys who are stronger than the strongest woman in the world. Think about that. Pick any real (not planet fitness) gym, and there’ll be some naturally brawny guys who are casual 3-days-a-week weightlifters who are stronger than whoever the absolute strongest woman on the planet is.

Powerlifting is probably the most obvious example, but I imagine it’s almost the same for sports like swimming. Men’s superior muscle mass and higher testosterone means we can swim faster and with greater force and have more stamina.

Just because a trans man/woman feels like he’s just as much a woman as biological woman doesn’t mean he has the right to compete with such a massive and unfair advantage.
